Cameron & Clegg Employ Foreigners To Look After Their Houses
7th March 2014
As it is revealed that BigAndy9 is right - immigration only helps the rich elite - the average Joe UKIP voter is punished by immigration.
David Cameron and Nick Clegg were dragged into a row over immigration last night after it emerged that they both employ foreign domestic staff.
The row erupted after the new immigration minister, James Brokenshire, said uncontrolled immigration benefited only the ‘wealthy metropolitan elite’ who wanted cheap labour.
But his comments backfired after critics pointed out that the Prime Minister currently employs a nanny from Nepal and previously hired an Australian.
The Deputy Prime Minister admitted hiring a Belgian ‘lady’ as a ‘home help’.
Labour MP John Mann demanded that the whole Cabinet come clean on their use of foreign workers.
‘We need every Cabinet minister to declare what staff they have employed from abroad,’ he said.
‘They should be seeking out British staff. It is total hypocrisy. They need to make up their minds on this.’
In his first speech in the job, Mr Brokenshire told the Demos think-tank: ‘The immigration system we inherited was not designed to benefit this country or the people who live here.
For too long, the benefits of immigration went to employers who wanted an easy supply of cheap labour, or to the wealthy metropolitan elite who wanted cheap tradesmen and services, but not to the ordinary, hard-working people of this country.
‘Those who tend to lose out most when there is uncontrolled immigration are manual and low-skilled workers who have to compete with an influx of people from poorer countries who are willing to work for less.’

Not sure what to think of this. Clearly the immigration system operated by the last govt did drive down wages that is clear. He has very definitely embarrassed Clegg and Cameron indirectly though. Whether this embarrassment is of any significance is questionable though.
We still have deeply divergent views about immigration with proponents on each side arguing that it is good or conversely very bad.
I think the pendulum is very definitely in the its bad area not least because of the lack of infrastructure to support the huge increases in the population.
Vince Cable and many on the left think otherwise and it is they who will carry the argument as UKIP hasn't a chance and the Tories look doomed also.

There was a woman doing the Press review on Sky this morning talking about this. She said she was interviewing a Polish woman for a cleaning job today. When the others commented about using an English cleaner she said she put an ad in for a cleaner at £10 an hour and the only ones that replied were Polish. Then they slated her for being tight and said she should be paying £15 an hour. Really?

£15 per hour??? wtf
But then again Tess - where was this?
As has been proven - in the majority, British people require a higher salary than your cheap Eastern Europeans who are not settled here.
