On March 2, we dropped the mask mandate.
On march 2, 2021 the state of Texas opened up to 100% capacity and dropped the mask mandate. It's been 5 weeks and we were blasted by numerous "educated" people and told how we would see another surge in a few weeks. We have had spring break, opening day for baseball and all manner of events deemed the next super spreader event.
Here is our active cases. Judge for yourself.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The number of coronavirus cases and deaths due to the illness caused by the virus are rising in Texas, according to data from Johns Hopkins University on Saturday.
The seven-day rolling average of new cases in the state during the past two weeks has increased from 5,040.8 per day to 7,022.7 and the average number of daily deaths rose 127 daily to 222. The rolling average of the positivity rate is also on the rise during the same time period, from 5.8% on Feb. 19 to 12.5% on March 5.
This is relevant news, is it not?

Might have been relevant a month ago (when it was dated). But deaths; like active cases are much lower during the past 5 weeks.

Since the March 10 order, however, Covid-19 has been on the wane in the Lone Star state, even as infections climb in places where tougher restrictions remain. Fewer Texans are getting infected, becoming seriously ill and dying than at any time since a surge that strained the state’s hospitals last summer. On April 5, as hospitalizations dropped below 2,800, Abbott said in a tweet that the state had only three Covid deaths that day.

The date is March 6th, almost a week after your pronouncement.
So...you're saying that Texas is unstable?

4 days after the announcement and 4 days before it took effect if you want to be precise.
Our numbers have dropped like a rock without locking people down.
It's the vaccines and prior infections giving us herd immunity...

We have no indication of when mask wearing won't be mandatory in enclosed public spaces....I hope it's soon.
I know it has saved lives, but it has to be bad for society in general not being able to see peoples faces.
On a personal note...I REALLY miss wearing lippy.
