Nurse charged with the murder of 8 babies at Chester hospital.
The CPS must have found new evidence to now charge her with murder and attempted murder of so many babies.
She was first arrested in 2018, then again in 2019, finally she has been charged.
"A former nurse has been charged with eight counts of murder and 10 of attempted murder following an investigation into the deaths of babies at a neonatal unit in Chester.
Lucy Letby, 30, who worked at the Countess of Chester Hospital is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates' Court on Thursday after she was charged on Wednesday.
Miss Letby, who now lives in Hereford, was arrested for a third time earlier this week in connection with the long running murder investigation which began in 2017.
The investigation was launched after concern was raised about the high number of baby deaths that had been reported at the Countess of Chester Hospital’s neonatal unit.
In July 2016, the hospital commissioned an independent review of the unit because of concerns about a rise in “unexplained” deaths. "

Evil, insane, who knows.
This case reminds me Beverly Allitt, another nurse here who murdered children in her care. Her motives were summed up as...
"Allitt's motives have never been fully explained. According to one theory, she showed symptoms of factitious disorder, also known as Munchausen syndrome or Munchausen syndrome by proxy.[18] This disorder is described as involving a pattern of abuse in which a perpetrator ascribes to, or physically falsifies illnesses in, someone under their care to attract attention to themselves."
