Quill and I have been discussing Marquise Love, the man who beat the hell out of someone at the Portland protests. He's wanted by the police right now and here is what they know up to now.

Now Quill is stating that this guy is actually a federal agent operating under cover.

I contend Quill is full of shit.

Now the wager. If this guy is arrested and is just a common thug or miscreant Quill gets a one month ban. If it turns out he's a federal agent, I get one.

We let Les decide because he knows how to be honest and objective.

So Quill, do we have a bet?

Another Mod might agree to it, though I don't imagine so.

Why not try and navigate around him or ignore him or develop a sense of humour - after all it's only a forum, it's not real life.

A 25-year-old man surrendered to police Friday in the beating of another man caught on video during a confrontation that unfolded near a downtown Portland demonstration last weekend.

Marquise Love turned himself in and was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center, police said. He’s accused of felony assault, coercion and rioting and is being held on $260,000 bail.

Friendly wagers are fine, but nobody's getting banned over it. You could say that the loser has to log off for a certain timespan, but banning is a punishment for breaking the rules.

Maddog, I'm aware you and Quill don't get along and you are free to think what you like about him; but don't you think it's enough throwing insults at him on this thread? I'd say it is. In any case, he never agreed to the bet, so nothing happens anyway on that front.
