Is Trump plotting a military coup this November?
Gathering troops into Washington.
Recalling troops from overseas.
Turning his police into an aggressive militia.
Building a wall around the White House to keep insurgents out.
Mobilising the National Guard in countless states.
Will he cancel the November election, arrest Biden on a 'trumped up' charge and declare himself a supreme leader and commander in chief?
Fantasy?
Wouldn't put it past him.

Re: Is Trump plotting a military coup this November?
Unfortunately, you are using Daily Mail, which blocks its articles in America. But here’s what I wrote two days ago:
Dictators typically treat the public in a ‘we-they’ fashion. Your article, in the Independent, about fencing off the White House is telling enough. Nothing says ‘we-they’ more that a wall or a fence.
Recognizing the strong unAmerican strain in the actions of Trump, I have long suspected (at least two years) that Trump is planning a coup. Not only does he think in unAmerican fashion (like a dictator), but he is strikingly cozy with dictators like Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkey’s Recep Erdoğan and Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
The Putin connection is most interesting. Of course, all the help given to appoint Trump as US president by the Russians is now well-known and infamous. But then there are the attempts even before Trump took office to assure the Russians that sanctions would be lifted. Could this have been ‘pay-back’?
More nefarious, the attempts by black ops founder of Backwater, Erik Prince, to establish a “back-channel” between Trump and Putin, means the two had on-going matters to discuss. Was Putin the financier of Trump, as alleged in Luke Harding’s Collusion: Secret Meetings, Dirty Money, and How Russia Helped Donald Trump Win (2017)? Is Putin puppet-mastering Trump, and that’s why we are seeing so many unAmerican actions being performed by Trump? Is Putin running America?
If Putin has been successful in becoming the case officer running Trump as the American President, he (Putin) would want that to continue, don’t you think? Everything falls into place. Trump/Putin are indifferent to polls and signs of how unpopular he is, because they have plans of their own: claim the election is/was rigged and therefore invalid; and declare a coup, which will never end.
Only the Constitution stands in the way. The Constitution says that the electoral college appoints a president for four years at a time. Trump’s tenure runs out on January 20th, 2021, and absent reelection, no authority exists for him to continue past that date. The premise of the coup will thus not be Trump continues in office, but will instead be: America has no president. But there must be someone to assert that.
Brutus wrote:As malevolent and noxious as Trump is, it's not just him. The Vichy-Republicans are as guilty as Trump for their complicity and appeasement. Indeed, they started the deterioration of America with false wars, sanctioning kidnapping, torture, rape and a return to concentration camps back in 2003. This lowering-of-the-level created the environment that allowed Trump to come to power. It removed the guard-rails of good government, and prompted the deluge of alt.morality to rush in.
Trump (perhaps with Putin’s orchestration) has indeed carried it beyond anyone's wildest imagination. The situation is to the point where we have to question whether democracy is gone forever. Trump has already started questioning the next election, setting up a faux claim for invalidation. It is notable that he has taken advantage of the peaceful demonstrations to place Federal troops around Washington DC, the nation's capital. Nowhere else...just the nation's capital, where a take-over would take place.
This was the way of Fascists: phony claims, followed by real military force, platitudes followed by actual transgression (wasn’t the Reichstag fire such a maneuver?). I think the US is being set up for a coup. Watch the continuing assault on the election, and look out for more troop movements on the nation’s capital.

No.
The wall around the Whitehouse isn't really his idea. The Secret Service is going to do everything in its power to keep any president alive.
He doesnt have police.
Governors control the Guard.
He is losing his fucking mind though. But if he loses, we will transfer power in January. Like we have for over 200 years now.

We can't be certain. If Trump loses, and turns around and questions the election, we may enter a period of suspending our institutions. In that environment, Trump may well manage to retain the position of president, and thereafter stall any future resolution. He will be president for life.
The one thing that Frantz Fanon said that is true, is: "Power comes from the end of a gun". I find it curious that Trump is loading up Washington DC with troops of all kind. The unidentified troops who stood on the Lincoln Memorial last week, turned out to be assorted members of the Texas Bureau of Prisons, having no federal authority, least of all on the east coast. They were civilians.
Hitler gained power with the so-called Brown Shirts, which was a group of paramilitary soldiers, having no authority whatsoever. They just used brute force. What are state employees of the Republican governed State of Texas, doing in Washington DC? Where did they get uniforms without insignia? How did they get there? Where are they housed? How are they fed? Where did they get ammunition?
In the end, Fanon is right. Throw up enough chaff, and then bring in the guns. You end up with a coup.

Not with an army of Brown Shirts on his side. Who is there to oppose him…to, as you say, carry him out? I think that's why Joint Chiefs, and past DOD Secretaries are speaking up. Trump's treatment of the military is bizarre these days.

He will lose, then declare the election null and void on account of vote rigging. He will stay put, and draw on the military to preserve his status as commander in chief.
As Maddog rightly says, he is losing his mind, he now all over the place, not knowing whether to shit, shake or shiver.

Precisely.
And I don't believe he is losing his mind. I think there is a puppet-master manipulating him. This is well planned, and Trump doesn't plan beyond the tip of his nose.

You dont know enough about how out system works.
If he loses, he's gone. He can't declare an election null and void.
Stop with your weird fantasies.

Left, right, I don't care. Our system is set up to handle someone who would try something like this. We dont have a strong executive. The other two branches have equal power and will remove him if he gets stupid.
This isn't Chile.

Donald Trump has shown you how easy it is wresting Spending power and Oversight power away from Congress. He has the entire Senate cowing before him, and a majority vote on the Supreme Court. He has the Department of Justice, as well as the State Department, now as his personal tools. He has been busy making the Defense Department is own personal toy.
If Trump calls in the 12,500 men of the 101st Airborne from nearby Ft. Campbell KY—the state of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (affectionately, Moscow Mitch)—what part of “coup” do you not understand? Where is the “system” to prevent it?
Yes, Virginia…this can easily be Chile.

Well...fortunately, this thread is not about me. I'm just using the self-confessed term 'pussy grabber' to indicate that Trump is way out of line when it comes to normalcy. He has been an abnormality for 4-years.
And here you come, saying that he will tow the mark and not cause any trouble when he is voted out of office. Amid his constant, persistent abnormality, you have no evidence that he will suddenly turn 'normal' on that most threatening (to him) occasion.
Trump has violated the law. He has violated the Constitution. He has violated any and all institutional norms. A person with any prudence would watch him like a hawk, especially when he cloaks himself with paramilitary types, who apparently have no accountability to anyone.

Re: Is Trump plotting a military coup this November?
Oh, the list of abnormalities with Trump, is long and disgusting. He is a top candidate for murder, child rape and espionage, among many other crimes.
I think the greater threat, for him, is that he will be prosecuted in New York, Florida or California, after he is out of office. That's why I think he will break the law/Constitution to maintain his office, and the protection of the position. He faces a greater threat as a civilian.

He will be dragged out if necessary. He has insulted too many people in the military to even think that they would follow illegal orders from him, to protect him.

OK. He loses and calls the Secretsry if Defense and says help me with my coup. The answer will be, no sir, I will carry out my orders to ensure a transfer of power.
While Trump may not take his oath to the Constitution very seriously, don't believe that most others wont.
For the third time at least, he will be carried out if need be.

Gd luck. Nixon went down the ranks and got Cox fired. The Japanese went down the ranks to find some Lt. Colonel to disobey the emperor's orders. Coups are an old game. Trump will reach down into the ranks to find some brigade commander who is opportune enough to risk it.
You haven't been paying attention.

Haha...but Bru's obsession is not as great as the allied's with Hitler. Trump poses the same threat, but not as expensive as Normandy.
Trump needs to be prosecuted; otherwise release all the other prisoners in the US under the doctrine of equal justice under the law.
