Tensions rise in the White House as Trump aides test positive for Covid-19
The White House on Saturday scrambled to deal with the fallout from two aides testing positive for the coronavirus, as officials who were potentially exposed responded differently, with some senior members of the pandemic task force self-quarantining while others planned to continue to go to work.
Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Stephen Hahn and Centres for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield, both task force members, said they are self-quarantining or teleworking for two weeks after exposure to a coronavirus case at the White House. On Saturday night, a spokeswoman for Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious diseases official, acknowledged that working from home sometimes will be among the precautions he is taking.
But several administration officials said White House staffers were encouraged to come into the office by their supervisors, and that aides who travel with Donald Trump and Mike Pence would not stay out for 14 days, the recommended time frame to quarantine once exposed to the virus.

T'would be an efficient way to transition to a new administration.

If any of them are hospitalized, that will be a real test for Trump. Can he set his ego aside and deal with this problem responsibly? Or will he keep downplaying it?

Welllll...this is now close enough that Trump may well be the one who gets it. If he does, it depends on his physiology how he sees it through. From what I hear, it's hell.

He's taking it very seriously as it's destroying his re election chances. You might not think what he's done has been very effective.

You give two, very different and opposing vibes, with that comment. Care to expand?

I do that a lot. Especially with Trump.
He knows how serious this is. He has said as much in his daily press briefings.
That seriousness hasn't transformed itself into what many would call an effective plan to battle it.
TBF, for the day to day things like sgutting down businesses and such, it's not his call anyway. He can use his bully pulpit, but for the most part, it's down to governors and local leaders.
It's a quirk of a federalist system.
