Re: Where's Moley?
He posted last week. Said he had been recovering from some bug. Maybe he’s still feeling a bit sick?
I do hope he’s ok!

Indeed. He's one of the few RW'ers who can actually frame a logical argument. He wasn't in a good mood when he last showed up. I do hope he's all right.

Re: Where's Moley?
Moley's a great poster and has always seemed like a really nice person.
just had a look. Moley's last post was on quill's thread enquiring if nicko was ok.
Moley mentioned he was suffering depression due to isolation and all. Syl, told him that forums were good in isolation in order to keep in touch with folk.
go get him edds, tell him he's missed

Re: Where's Moley?
I got an email today. I won’t disclose what he said in case he doesn’t want everyone to know the full details but he did say he wasn’t sleeping well and felt a little down in the dumps.
He did thank everyone for their concern and said he will be back posting soon.

Re: Where's Moley?
Hello all, thank you so much for all those kind and wonderful comments, and my apologies for not keeping in touch.
Yes, Eddie did contact me (thanks, Eddie) and I mentioned to her that I'm having a few health concerns right now including some evidence of the probability of one of the complications of my long term diabetes that's potentially somewhat more threatening than the depression to which I've long been prone.
The isolation is the thing that's hitting me the hardest...I live in a beautifully quiet and peaceful spot with gorgeous countryside scenery and that has its great advantages, but by far the worst thing is not being able to see my family other than from the regulation distance, and then only once a week at best, and as Nicko has said, the lady in my life - an old and very dear family friend of more than 50 years' standing and my absolute rock when my wife died - does not live with me, though until all this happened she spent two or three days a week at my house. We've also lost a trip to the WW1 battlefields in Belgium and a week's holiday in Cumbria, both of which were pretty expensive, just to make things worse!
Anyway, enough of the whingeing from me.....I hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected and keeping safe in these plague-ridden times; you certainly seem to have plenty of threads going at the moment....so I must catch up.

Thanks, mate. I love Elgar's music, and Nimrod is my favourite of the Enigma pieces.

Re: Where's Moley?
Regardless of how depressing and demoralizing self isolating is, and not being able to hug friends and family, I URGE you not to surrender to it. Stay separated. For as long as it takes.
I absolutely guarantee that this is one illness you don't want to catch, and given your prevailing health issues, it could turn very serious indeed.
Been there, had the intensive care like Boris, and wouldn't recommend it to even my worst enemy.
Good luck..

Re: Where's Moley?
I think everyone is suffering , none more so than people living alone, and even worse, living alone with no outside space or garden to get a bit of respite in.
My friend lost her husband of 40 odd years just before this disease took hold. So she is having to grieve alone, without family or friends to comfort her, give her a hug, make her a cup of tea and crying together about all the good times they shared.
Fred, you will get through this, I did say somewhere that forums can help, takes our mind off bad stuff that's happening around us for a while.
I always think a good forum row, or being subjected to a barrage of online insults perks one up something grand during a boring day of having not much to do.
Take care. x

Moley
How horrible, to suffer in a beautiful place. Just take care of yourself as best as you can, don't let your worries beget other worries, if that makes sense. I'm really glad you're hanging in there.
Re: Where's Moley?
Fred, you’ve been like a father to me over the years.
I’ve never forgotten the PM’s I sent you when I was really unhappily entangled in my prior relationship. You’ve always had my back, (much like Vic and (moreso) Les even when we totally disagree - love ya Les), and I’ll always have a place in my heart for you.
I need you back here soon.

I've told Eddie this time and time again, but anybody who has made her happy or has been there for her is very important to me as well. Thank you.

I am sorry to hear that me Lord, that you had to postpone your trip and you cannot be together
I know this is small comfort but would a video call each day with your lady and also your family?
Sometimes when we cannot be together, to be able to see those we most love. Helps deal with the days ahead
If anything technology has done, is actually bring us a step closer to each other
I know this is small comfort me Lord and you would rather spend time together with friends and family, but I believe this would lift your spirits as much as listening to Elgar
Stay gold mate

Depression sucks. And during this time it makes everything much more exhausting. It’s ok to have a bad day, bad week, bad month. I really feel for you. Hugs xx
