labour...rotten to the core
Root and branch
another lefty showing why labour should be drummed out of british politics
and this time not a "mere" labour councillor" but a major domo of the core of labour
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/rmt-union-boss-steve-hadley-boris-johnson-died-party-coronavirus-a4412196.html
"Rail, Maritime and Transport union boss Steve Hedley has been suspended after saying he would "throw a party" if Boris Johnson dies of coronavirus.
It comes after the Prime Minister was admitted into intensive care as he battled with Covid-19.
He was moved back to the ward at St Thomas' Hospital on Thursday as his condition improved.
Mr Hedley, who is the assistant chief of the RMT, is believed to have made comments on social media about having a party, in reference to Boris Johnson's condition."
from saying "voters were stupid" (an ex member here, and big labour mouth) to a labour mayor saying he deserved it, to a pillar of the labour movement hopeing he dies from it....
its all very well sacking the ones who just cant keep their mouth shut, but it begs the question.....HOW MANY MORE THINK LIKE THIS < BUT SAY NOWT.....what a LOVELY party they really are......They are, and must REMAIN unelectable.....

Re: labour...rotten to the core
So 2 people out of 500,000 members and 15 million supporters make horrible comments and Victor labels them all the the same category.
I of them was ejected from the party , the other is highly likely to be.
Perhaps someone should start a thread on inappropriate language from Conservative party members.
They do offer plenty of ammunition.
And remember the very same conservative MP's heaping praise on the HNS and nurses are the very same MP's who voted to freeze the pay of the nurses.
And this abhorrent pig has been suspended by his union and is likely to be expelled from the Labour party too.
Under Starmer, they will weed out the rotten eggs.
I saw this on the Sun app and thought you'd be interested

that has nothing to do with the issue
they are just the ones who have opened their mouth, and it goes deeper doesnt it...wanting to hang tories from london bridge, wanting to jail tories, considering voters stupid AND wanting to disenfranchise voters (because they are stupid, presumably labour voters would be exempt.
no party is perfect, but labour have excelled themselves recently in the "nasty stakes", and truely taken on the mantle of the "nasty party"
some one on here (I wonder who) even thought it ok to throw partys on Mrs Thatchers demise, and even thought that the funeral was ok to be disrupted.........DESPITE the fact that as I pointed out, the funeral (of anyone) is for the comfort of the deceased relatives.........so one may rightly judge the ideology of even a "supporter" of that party......

As Victor said this is just about the worst whataboutism going
In that you fail to condemn what has been said but even worse try to excuse this over the wrongs that happened to the victims of the fire in the Grenfell towers
You have seriously gone down in my estimation
Yes some tories have said terrible things and many of us continually condemn them for doing so. What we do not do is bring up another event to distract from the wrong said in that current situation

I can only applaud that and long my this continue

Well, those that profess a moral superiority based on their high level of compassion towards other people, are often the nastiest towards other people.
It's sorta like the woman in the front row every Sunday at church, getting caught with the preacher at the local hotel.

Re: labour...rotten to the core
I think Starmer realised that Labour were totally unelectable under Corbyn and Momentum.
I know that McDonnell and Burgeon are looking at reviving the far left, but they will have to break away and start a new far left party.
Under Starmer, I reckon Labour wiill look to emulate Blair's centre ground politics and economics, if not his middle east strategy, which was catastrophic.

The factt you cannot even see how you are mocking he victims by weaponizing them. To simple defend arseholes within Labour (Who have been rightly suspended by the party).
Proves beyond doubt to me., you are scum
Even the Labour party is not defending them, but you the pathetic low life that you are. Is the only twat defending them
I shall not bother engaging further in conversation with such scum anymore

Indeed, but that has always been the issue with extremist scum like he is
When they weaponize the victims of the grenfell disaster, instead of condemning twats that the Labour party has suspended
That speaks volumes about Eilzel and why thankfully the Labour party is now removing his ilk from the party

Cummings is reported as having a said a few pensioners dying was a price worth paying for herd immunity. Incidentally, he went unpunished. Rees Mogg insulted the intelligence of Grenfell victims. A few oddball Labour politicians saying nasty things is no better and I never once condoned them. But the actions of the government speak louder than stupid things said by stupid people.
I think Johnson's approach to this outbreak has been appalling, but I don't wish harm on him. Those who do are nasty individuals, not representitive of all Labour supporters, any more than vile racists who support Tories, or those who wish horrible things on Labour politicians (they certainly exist) represent all Tories.

I have little respect for eilzel when he does not lead with condemning, but instead leads with whataboutism.
Even worse invoking made up crap as well about Cummings, who I also think is a tit
This is what the regressive left constantly do and was going to leave this after cass asked me, and even deleted some posts I made to respect her wishes, but you had to stoke this up

Am disgusted in you to be honest Eilzel
You are disgusted in me and I've gone down in your estimation? Heard that so many times at this point, it's a wonder I can surprise you at all
that made me laugh
seriously though, les. if i'm being honest i think it's a simple difference between
a) Tories = not caring enough about folk
b) Labour = actually wishing harm on folk
and there is a difference,,,,
Cummings is reported as having a said a few pensioners dying was a price worth paying for herd immunity.
Those who do are nasty individuals, not representitive of all Labour supporters, any more than vile racists who support Tories, or those who wish horrible things on Labour politicians (they certainly exist) represent all Tories.
what would YOU have done, hindsight is a wonderful thing you know....
and labour wouldnt have had a clue, nor would they have been able to cooperate across the political spectrum like the tories have,

If labour were in control we would be in the middle of a referendum on what to do about covid19, they seem incapable of making decisions.

Purely hypothetical.

I see some deleting has been done since last night. I didn’t respond because we started watching Wire in The Blood (excellent btw) and having takeout (lobster roll with truffle fries and a beefed up caprese salad. Trying to keep supporting local restaurants during this crisis).

There are always extremists on both sides of an issue. Lumping them all together achieves nothing.
Instead of dealing with what ifs to score points, how about we deal with the current situation as is?

Okay, one guy is rotten to the core...not the whole party. Kier Starmers, Labour leader, sent Boris a very specific get well wish.

They're tired and transparently tribal, the exact thing everyone seems to say they don't like when they're in the right mood ...
I think every notably partisan member of this forum should find a member of the "other" party that they admire, and say why.
Re: labour...rotten to the core
My point in this thread is that there is a minority, but unfortunately a substantial minority, which goes all the way from ground roots members to the very top levels, who are very very nasty people, and whom corbyn courted and encouraged.....and who still carry influence....
Starmer, who I know little about, is going to have his work cut out purging this trash from the party
and even more of a job to convince me that I would EVER want to vote labour again......for various reasons......

I dont know any......that I "admire"....none have ever caught my notice as "hey, that guy is good"
and for me the very core of the present labour ideology is abhorrent and unwanted....yes they have a few good ideas, but there is so much extraneous and nauseous baggage attached that its not worth it....
Labour is city centric for a start with an inbuilt hate of rural matters (which is one of their greatest sins as far as i'm concerned)
pray god that Starmer ISNT another Blair...who, if we are going to talk about politicising an occurrence, you should all remember, got into downing street on the back of the Hungerford killings...

The things those three countries have in common is rigorous testing. We have been slow on this. Meanwhile, the UK delayed a full lockdown until the last possible moment and even that came with conflicting advice.
Other countries faring badly just shows mishandling on their parts. Trump has been laughable on this tbf, and Italy was hit first in Europe. We had examples to go by and still fell into the worst handled category.
There seems to be real lack of will to criticise the government's performance, arguably because Boris is such as shrewd presenter of himself as an everyman and nice guy. And understandably people want them to get it right and on with it. But hopefully when this passes over people will take a real hard look at what was done.

Exactly, when the reality is the spread is mainly caused by people not following social distancing, washing hands regular etc.
This is proven by the fact that even after lock down has been in place for 3 weeks, the numbers of new confirmed cases continues to rise
As to Germany, it has over 125k confirmed cases.Far more than the UK what it has less of is the number of deaths and no earlier lock down has been the reason why more have not sadly succumbed to death
The reality is the likes of the US and the Uk have a huge health problem with the likes of obesity, which leads to many underlining health issues. In other words the general health of a population will factor greatly and which people contract this. As to how many could lose their lives. A lager older population will also factor here
The survival rate using ventilators is 50% and we are no where near to capacity in the NHS
All they do is provide more time for the body to fight the virus

Chinese TV identifies the possible cause as a new type of coronavirus – the first time many people have heard the phrase. But scientists say the risk of human transmission remains low.

At this time I thought it might be a lot worse than was said... And would have wanted to see a tightening of borders and travel restrictions imposed right then... Just to be better safe than sorry...
But you know what...???
The lefties who are now complaining about lack of action... Would have been the first to object to any travel bans at this time and crying about racism etc...
While the very same leftys are more than happy to allow limitless numbers of foreigners into the uk who have HIV/aids and drug resistant TB and other diseases... as well as unlimited numbers of dangerous foreign criminals/murderers/rapists and illegal immigrants... Because they think that checks and restrictions imposed on stopping entry to these "undesirables" would be 'racist'...
