Violence against MPs 'worth it' to get way on Brexit, say majority of voters in poll
Violence against MPs is "worth it" if people get their way on Brexit, according to a majority of voters.
An academic survey by Cardiff University and the University of Edinburgh found a majority of both Leavers and Remainers thought violence against members of Parliament could be a "price worth paying" if it meant their views prevailed.
The survey was based on polling by YouGov which found 71% of Leave voters in England, 60% in Scotland and 70% in Wales thought violence against MPs was a "price worth paying" for Brexit.
Of Remain voters, 58% in England, 53% in Scotland and 56% in Wales thought it was worth it to stay in the EU.
The survey's co-director Professor Richard Wyn Jones said he was "genuinely shocked" at the findings.

Not something I'd agree with, but can understand the frustration !

People are becoming dangerously entrenched over this, and as someone living in a quasi dictatorship, it worries me how much leeway the public seem willing to give the government.
In a UK poll I saw yesterday, around 50% of people said the government should be given MORE power AND be allowed to break laws now and again.
What. The actual. Fuck.

Maybe whatever it was that "they" were supposedly "putting in the water" a few decades ago is finally taking effect ???
The majority of the British populace is collectively losing the plot, if these surveys are to be believed..

The British people voted and they got a Brexit recommendation that hasn't been implemented in over three years, and looks like it might never be implemented.
Then they got Boris Gump as PM with no say on the matter.
I say all that to say this -- whenever people start to think they might need to chop off some politicians' heads, what they probably actually want is a little more democracy.
