U.S. military sergeant arrested for recording sex acts with 14-year-old

A member of the Guam National Guard has been arrested by federal authorities for the production of child pornography.

Accused of sexually exploiting children, Guam National Guard Sergeant Jerry Thomas Guerrero II was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in coordination with the Guam National Guard and Guam Homeland Security.

The arrest which took place in Barrigada came after an investigation done by the Marianas Child Exploitation/Humans Trafficking Task Force.

While the authorities did not provide details of the case, FBI Honolulu Acting Special Agent in Charge Rafael A. Riviere said: “Today’s arrest sends a powerful message to predators across the islands. The FBI’s mission is to protect citizens, especially the most vulnerable members of our community — our children. We will be vigilant to help those who cannot protect themselves.”

With one of their own behind bars, Major General Esther Aguigui, Adjutant General of the Guam National Guard said: “There is no tolerance for depraved conduct, such as the sexual exploitation of minors, in the Guam National Guard. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement to root out predators and protect the island’s youth.”

A look at Guerrero’s arrest record shows that in June 2018, he was arrested and charged with 1st degree criminal sexual conduct, 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct, child pornography, jurisdiction over an adult, and sexting.

A magistrate complaint for the 2018 arrest states that for six months, Guerrero would pick up the 14-year-old victim from her residence and take her to various locations to have unprotected sex with her.

During the course of their illicit relationship, police say Guerrero recorded as much as 19 videos on his cell phone of the two of them engaging in sexual acts. However, these videos were all obtained through the young girl’s cell phone.

Whiffed completely.  Because there are two sets of laws in the US.  One for the rich and privileged; another for the little folk.  You can buy yourself out of trouble if you have the money...if not, sozz.

If he was in the Guam National Guard, he was most likely a Guam citizen.  

I don't think they have vastly different laws than in a US state, but culturally they may look at 14 year olds differently.

Guam is an unincorporated and organized territory of the United States, in the western Pacific Ocean. It is the westernmost point and territory of the United States, along with the Northern Mariana Islands.

He is subject to US law...and Constitution.

Guam is a US external territory,  therefore a citizen of Guam is a US citizen..

In the same way that a Northern Ireland citizen is a British citizen,  Cocos Island and Norfolk Island citizens are Aussies, and Cook Island citizens are Kiwis.
