Can you believe it's a year today?
On July 6, 2018, in Fort Worth, Texas, eddie changed my life forever by saying "I do" (and muttering "fuck you" under her breath just before we kissed and sealed the deal).
I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I say that I feel like the luckiest man in the world. Lottery winners have NOTHING on me.
Eddie, Honey Pie, you light me up. You make me so much happier than I ever imagined I could be. You support me and challenge me, you pull me close and tell me that you're mine, but you won't let me get away with bullshit, either. You're not just all I want -- you're all I need.
I could have never imagined finding a woman like you. The fact that you love me makes me feel like I must be really special.
I love you so much, it overwhelms me. I can't believe I get to share all my tomorrows with you.

You’re a little shit, a gentleman and challenge me in all sorts of ways. I’m so fucking glad I found my best friend, my co-writer, my Pure Filth and my soulmate all in one.
I love you intensely. Happy anniversary Texas boy x
Ps. I don’t know why we didn’t just admit our feelings three years ago. We sure did waste some time.
But we sure did make up for it.

Everything's worked out as it needed to, I think. But yeah.
Re: Can you believe it's a year today?
Sometimes things happen exactly when they should....maybe soulmates wouldn't be soulmates if they met 10 years before or 10 years after.
Fate....or whatever you call it arranges these things you know.
My OH and I used to go to the same clubs when we were teenagers, we never even noticed each other.
A few years later I called for a cab one night and he turned up.....Wham bam,
Fate.

365 days? Not sure how I see this as a celebration, unless said person was previously ruled by negativity and not positive love?
Seriously dude am happy for you both, but dont base your life on milestones. Its as iff you are expecting that relationship to fail. When instead you should be understanding you have truely found love. Live every day like its your last and embrace that love

Yeah I do believe in fate actually. I guess I like the way Ben and I got together because we didn’t try, you know? We just became friends and then we started to just find we couldn’t stop talking.
And it all happened with just words...no phone calls, no video chats, just hours of talking on messenger.
You found true love Syl. I love your stories about Mr Syl....even though I still think you should occasionally let him win at scrabble.

It's not like that, it's just that thinking about how it's now been a year has gotten me all reminiscing. I keep seeing little scenes of this past year, and times before as well, and I just wanted to express how amazing it has been for me.

Ben I truely am happy for yo u both, but to me milestones and celebrating them, is as if people expect they will fail. That achieving them is cause for celebration. To me what is a celebration is you found each other, in the most unusal surroundings. When you both least exected to find love. That to me is a beauitiful story. Not that you made it to 365 days. As placing a time frame on this shows insecurities.
Anyway, very happy for you both and hope you live every single day feeling the same as you do now
Stay gold

We just wanted to celebrate that we had been married a year, didge, not to have it analysed.
But thanks for your best wishes.

I really get and understand that Eddie, but again my view is that milestones are not an achievement. When love is what really counts, in what you both have.Time is irrelevant here, when you have true love, as you both have. Can you see the point I am making? I mean you might as well celebrate tomorrow as well, for being the 366th day together. Its simple another day you are together and your love should not be bound by time, but by how speical it is the love you both have for each other.

Lol, I told you, if I ever let him win at scrabble it'd just confuse him.
I think everyone on this forum who was around at the time, knew you and Ben had something special, maybe even before you did.

Really? Well we didn’t. I guess outsiders see more...
(You really should let Mr Syl win....just once. He did fall off a ladder for you )

It's a bit frustrating, actually, that so many people here could tell -- I know Les and Vic said the same thing. We thought we were being so clever with one another, we didn't realize what others were seeing

Re: Can you believe it's a year today?
Thank to everyone.
I am proud and drained.
But drained in a good way.
Seeing daughters get married is hard on a dad.
Plus it was one hell of a 4 day party with 900 mile drives on each end.

Nope. It seems like only yesterday, Ben. Where has the time gone??
@ Eddie I guessed you & Ben were very close long before you told us. It was obvious, you seemed quite high profile & influential & powerful on here, eddie so people guessed that he liked you very much.
Your love seems rock solid & it's inspirational. Congrats to you both on your one year anniversary.

Yeah, eddie definitely stood out to me from the beginning -- she and I often talk about how we were drawn to one another's posts quite early on and how we've always been curious to see what one another had to say.
Neither of us have ever really tried to stick out, but we both seem to end up doing so anyway
Re: Can you believe it's a year today?
You both seem well suited at all levels. It was meant to be.

Influential and powerful? Hahahahahahaha I think most people see me as a bat-crazy hippy dippy shit.
Thanks for your congratulations though Jules.
Ps. Took me ages to type “congratulations”...my iPad kept trying to type “constabulary” for some weird reason.
