Five 'gut-wrenching' words no bride ever wants to hear on her wedding day
After getting all dressed up, walking down the aisle and meeting the man she loved at the altar, one woman's life suddenly fell apart.
And it was all because of five little words.
The unnamed woman was expecting to hear just two, that would change everything - I do.
Instead the man she had given her heart to decided to rip it out of her chest in front of her entire family and all their friends and crush it into a million pieces.
Writing anonymously on Love What Matters, the bride explains how on her wedding day, her partner decided he couldn't go through with it.
Moments before he'd been smiling and gazing lovingly at her, then he opened his mouth and said: "I just can't do it".
The woman expected to hear something more from the man she was going to marry, but when she returned home, all traces of him were gone.
After a few days, he decided to text the bride's sister, explaining that he wanted to be happy and the relationship wasn't right.
It turned out that he had already moved on with someone else - as the woman soon found out when he changed his relationship status on Facebook .
Two years on from the fateful day, she still doesn't fully understand why he decided to end things as they were about to exchange vows, but what really breaks her heart is that the pair shared a son, and he also walked out on him.
She added: "I know my heart will mend itself someway, somehow. But can a child ever stop mourning the loss of their father?
"I fear that one day, somehow, the runaway will run into him. Or worse, he will look for him. That he'll try to take away my baby, all I have left."

What a nasty piece of work. He must have known he didn’t love her and to walk out on her on their wedding day, and to leave his son.....well, I wouldn’t consider him a catch.
His new love had better watch out.

Did he actually leave the son? Otherwise it's just an affair that didn't work.
I had a friend who had a daughter (about 2-years at the time), and tho he didn't want to marry the mother, he took the daughter everywhere. She was adorable.

That's the real crime here. A child doesn't know what happened, nor what he did to deserve it.

Yes and the fact that the guy was too cowardly to cancel the wedding, deciding instead, to humiliate the mother of his child and his fiancé.

What an arshole.....one day she will realise she is better off without him.
Years ago I had a lovely friend who was getting married . We were driving her bridegroom to the church and he suddenly told us to stop the car he wasn't going through with the wedding. She was waiting at the church, it was a big white wedding, all the guests were there. We pulled over and thinking he was just suffering from nerves persuaded him in no uncertain terms that he had to go through with it..
He did....and he gave my friend 2 years of hell before he walked out on her.
We should have let him run off that day, it would have saved her from two miscarriages and a load of heartbreak.

She had a lucky escape. The fact that he already had someone new is just more proof along with the fact he abandoned his child. A real man (or woman) would own up and face the music instead of heaping yet more humiliation and heartbreak on their partner and child.

Yes, that was kind of rude. But it's still just an affair gone bad, except for the kid.
Remember, it happened in Four Weddings and a Funeral, with Hugh Grant? That was a comedy.

Firstly, that was a film this is real life
Secondly, the film sucked (from what I saw, had to turn it off due to the non-laughter of the “comedy”)
Thirdly, just because it’s in a film doesn’t make it okay.

It was an immensely popular film, in which people enjoyed the plot twists.

To each his/her own.

I think you've missed the point. It's the popularity of the film that validates the situation within the plot. People so enjoyed the idea that there is now a spin-off TV show that emulates the plot.
