Black nets were put in place to keep migrating birds away from cliffs in Norfolk
Nets were erected so a project to combat coastal erosion could be carried out
Campaigners called out the netting as birds were left blocked from their nests
North Norfolk District Council said it would take down part of the netting

Awww I so love the nonplussed looks on the birds' faces.
Be kind to the birds & bees, it makes sense!!
Maybe they should BUILD new nests ?

I'm amazed that they have been getting away with it.
So far as I am aware, the 1981 UK Wildlife and Countryside Act not only forbids the killing of and injury to certain species of birds (including sand martins) ; it also precludes destroying, interfering with or preventing parental access to nests during the breeding season which, in the case of swallows and sand martins, begins on their arrival in the UK in spring.

Sounds like another local council where those morons in power keep on giving jobs to their otherwise unemployable fuckwit cousins and nephews...
Who then go on to do whatever idiotic and illegal stupidity they think they can get away with..
That council should be sacked, and those responsible jailed as a warning to other backwoods 'hicksville' councils.
Won't happen, of course -- crooked politicians, corrupt councilors, local bad business operators always look after their own first..
