Is Fireman Sam Sexist? | Good Morning Britain
A senior female fire officer has recently said that the children's cartoon 'Fireman Sam' is putting people off firefighting as it's not inclusive of women. Ella Whelan and Harriet Minter debate whether or not Fireman Sam plays into gender stereotypes.

It is sexist to give senior positions to these two women, just because they are women, and cos the PC agenda dictates that it is right that women are fast tracked into senior positions, because of their gender being female, and given priority over other non female candidates, regardless of whether the other non female candidates are more qualified/experienced and better suited for the job... because it's about "equality"... and "fairness"... and about how all people are given the same opportunity in being considered for a job... and nobody is discriminated against, or given special treatment, because of their gender...!!!

Established book titles should be left intact. Newer upcoming authors can always make their own modern titles, no one is stopping them. Firefighter is the all-inclusive modern term.
I'm totally for equality but this is one job where brute strength is sometimes required. To throw an unconscious body over the shoulders and scale down a tall ladder requires great strength. Don't know if this stereotyped rescue scenario happens often these days tho.
