Welfare Scrounger, Child Abuser and Neo-Nazi Leader

Richland County deputies have charged an avowed white supremacist with second-degree criminal sexual conduct against a female relative under the age of 12.

Sheriff Leon Lott said 59-year-old August Byron Kreis III sexually assaulted the girl and showed her pornography.

Kreis was once the leader of the Aryan Nations and sought out national attention, appearing on The Jerry Springer Show on an episode called "A Racist Family."

He served six months in jail in 2011 after pleading guilty to taking $193,000 in a need-based military pension, but failing to report other income.

In 2005 he received media attention by seeking an Aryan Nations-al Qaeda alliance.[6] CNN reported that "So while August Kreis may be calling, there is no sign that al Qaeda is listening."[6] His statements raised federal concerns about violations of the law which caused the government to look closely at his activities and finances.[7] The federal government concluded that he had no link with any terrorist organization.[7] The government, however, in the process discovered “substantial unreported funds” going into his bank accounts with more than $33,000 in unreported income in 2005.[7]

Even though he only spent a short time in the Navy because he served during wartime Kreis received an “improved pension” based on financial need, which is adjusted based on income.[7] In 2009, he moved from Potter County, Pennsylvania to Lexington, South Carolina, near Union City, Tennessee.[8]

In June 2011, Kreis was arrested in Obion County, Tennessee on "felony charges for filing fraudulent statements in an effort to obtain veterans benefits."[3] According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, "The indictment alleges that Kreis provided false information about whether he had any income in reports that he submitted to the Department of Veterans Affairs."[9] Previously he had refused to surrender when the charges were filed.[3] He was held in a federal detention center.

CNN quoted him in 2005:

"You say they're terrorists, I say they're freedom fighters. And I want to instill the same jihadic feeling in our peoples' heart, in the Aryan race, that they have for their father, who they call Allah."

A longstanding exponent of the violently racist Christian Identity theology, Kreis has run a kind of Identity ministry and sometimes militia. He also now operates a web site in the name of the Posse Comitatus, an Identity-cum-tax protest group that essentially went defunct in the 1980s.

Today, with Aryan Nations very possibly headed for oblivion — the neo-Nazi group's Idaho compound was due to be sold in February as part of court action to satisfy Butler's debts — Kreis wants to help fill the vacuum. He is one of several potential claimants the movement leadership role long played by Richard Butler.

Appealing to the old constituency of Aryan Nations — a group that he only joined last summer as the civil suit inched toward trial — Kreis has vowed to defend the remnants of the organization against its many enemies. But he seems more interested in building up his own power base than in restoring Butler's strength in the Pacific Northwest.

"The Aryan Nations will never die as it is foretold in biblical prophecy," he wrote on his web site not long ago. "Soon there will be a place such as Aryan Nations church grounds here on the east coast. The place will be here at 'The LastOutpost' [sic] in God's Country, Potter County Pennsylvania! The parasitic jews will NEVER defeat us, for there will always be those that do not fall prey to their brainwashing of the masses."

I never had any gripes with Tess elsewhere Bee.

NOT ONLY wasn't he strictly a "welfare scrounger" in the common British use of that terminology ~ but his defrauding the US Veteran's Affairs was over his non-disclosure of $33,000 in income for one period ~ which means that he as probably "overpaid" around half that up to a certain point, then 100% for the duration ? Maybe $16-20,000 "overpaid" in that one year ?

And yet they make it sound like he had stolen that whole $193k in benefits...

DEFINITELY something twisted about the way that the child abuse/sexual assault issues aren't the priority topic in this story ?

Eh??? I've never had any rants, silly or otherwise, with JD. I wasn't even on the same forums, except maybe ages ago on Sky and Electric Sky, but I honestly can't remember having any differences of opinion.

I agree. However what we get is endless barrages of attempts to make it seem like paedophilia is a LW problem; when in fact is a problem in general.
