Supernatural / Aliens/UFO'sI think we may have touched on this beforejv
I think we've touched on this before but maybe not specifically. Does anyone feel they have experienced a supernatural or a close encounter. Do you think the two things are linked and are something happening on the planet that we just don't understand as yet or are they two separate sets of events. Do you believe there are no such things at all.
I definitely had a sighting of something I cannot explain, an event that I and my other half appeared to forget for 20 odd years, since we have remembered its just brought up a lot more questions,
Sometimes I get a feeling something is wrong or about to go wrong sadly not soon enough or clear enough to do anything about it, nothing really important in the scheme of things but just for me or close relatives but I think its a combination of possibilities and clues that my mind puts together just too late to act, I doubt its a gift more like an instinct. My gran though actually foresaw a few things about the time they happened but were only confirmed an hour or so later, again only on a personal level so may be a more heightened instinct, maybe empathy with those close to you.
Do you believe there is life out there, not always carbon based though or is all the universes there to be colonised by humans who will probably eventually evolve to meet the requirements of life on their new planet?

The laws of probability would suggest that there has to be other planets with life on them. Our universe is vast with many planets that are unknown to us. It is an arrogant belief to believe WE are the only life in our universe or other universes. We have just barely touched on understanding of the cosmos.

That's true, Lurker, but if the possibilities for life are infinite, so are the possibilities for speed, distance and size. Because of speed, distance and size, and other possible dimensions, we may never encounter those other beings.
It's all relative.
It's all relative.

I agree with Lurker, in that our planet is a grain of sand amongst billions of others, it's a bit inward thinking to believe ours is the only inhabited one.
So...if any other alien species has made it to ours....they must be more intelligent than we are, because we haven't managed to find intelligent life anywhere else.
I definitely believe in the sixth sense, some people are more tuned in than others, but I think instinctive behaviour is part of the undeveloped sixth sense we all posses.

Not UFO related, tell us about yours Vintage, and why do you think you both forgot about what you saw for so many years?

I had one experience that was "out of the ordinary".
Some years back I was out at around 2am walking around the Hedgerows lamping Rabbits, usual night sounds, Ducks quietly quaking, occasional owl calling and night Birds moving in the bushes. Suddenly every thing went quiet, no sounds at all, I had goose pimples all down my arms and a real feeling of terror.I came out of that field at a good fast walk, got into car and went straight home. I'v got goose pimples typing this !

They say this can happen with low frequency sounds....it makes people feel fear. But I'm not wholly convinced. This happened to me at the top of Winter Hill. I reached this particular part and felt an overwhelming fear and couldn't walk any further. It did pass after a while and we carried on. When we got to the top we saw this plaque commemorating a plane crash and murder. Since then I've been up there several times and not felt a thing.

Your experience is most plausible, nicko. We live in such a narrow spectrum of sensitivity, that things could be happening all around us and we wouldn't even know about it.

Ok I think I've mentioned it before but here goes:
Judging from the car we were in I think it must have been early in 1976, it was late around about midnight on a moon lit, clear night and my then boyfriend was taking me home from his place. We'd driven this road many times and between the villages there is only a cottage near the road about half way along the road. Our journey started at the top of a hill then down the hill, along a flat bit of road then then just after the cottage we begin going up the hill to the next village. Just as we pass the cottage there is a wood on the right side of the road where the land falls away, to the left the land rises above the road and there is a hedge along the top, slightly further up is a barn on the same side. The road is winding and as we came around the first curve we could see the top of the barn, suddenly a brightly lit object came from above the trees on the left went across the road above and in front of us and over the hedge on the other side of the road. It appeared to be quite large and low but I doubt it was as low as it seemed. It also seemed to be 'flying' straight, as in not coming in at an angle. There was no sound or smoke or vapour trail or such. I don't remember us speaking about it again until a few years ago when we were watching a programme about sightings, I am interested in this OH isn't. I asked him if he remembered seeing the object and he did, I asked him what he thought it was or looked like - a large bus/coach, big yellow lit windows was the answer, same impression as me. When I started thinking about it and writing it down it struck me as strange that I remembered saying 'what's that' then the next thing seemed to be realising we were a bit further up the hill just entering the next village (2 or 3 mins distance perhaps). I still don't remember talking about what we'd seen, in fact I don't remember talking at all and we said goodnight and I went in and straight to bed I think it was a work day next day. He retraced his journey home without incident presumably.
I know it was about midnight when we got to the flat section of the road but what time I got home I didn't notice as far as I remember anyway.
There, wish you hadn't asked now I bet!

]Nothing I can remember. Except the lack of saying anything much, we normally talked about all sorts when driving home. I wish I had taken note of the time. The problem is though, memory - just how accurate can it be. I keep wondering why anything would be flying around with bright lights inside, you wouldn't see much looking out surely.
Logically we must have seen a meteorite and our brains or maybe mine added a bit on.

Yes, the lack of memory or any sharp awareness is suspicious in itself. It almost suggests you were in some sort of suspended state.
It's like when I had my heart operated on. The anesthesiologist told me she would give me an amnesiac...I said why bother, I'm still going to feel it anyway, so why make me forget.
She didn't give it to me, and I remember them prodding around in my chest. But it was a kind of removed state I was in, and I had no motion. I imagine it would be like that, somewhat.

I don't think this sort of thing is unusual. I have a friend who's a police woman and she saw something very odd driving across Formby Moss on her way to work. From a copse of trees, these bright red lights formed a diamond shape, and floated for ages before splitting into pieces and then coming together into one single ball of red sparkling light. Then it shot up into the sky so fast she knew it couldn't possibly be human. When she got into work, the desk sargeant had already taken 40 calls from others who'd seen it.

Wasn't there some research done on people blind folded and cut off from outside sounds but had low frequency sounds sent to them and they came up with all sorts of illusions or delusions of alien abduction etc.
The sudden silence of the night sounds wasn't that reported in the Rendlesham Forest Event.
I suppose the animals just carry on with the exception of in the immediate vicinity of you when you are out as you describe, it must have been something very different to quieten all around like that.

There have been a few incidents of lights around this area including some being seen by serving police like your friend
HT. Why though are these things so lit up,if they are manufactured, are they meant to be seen. I can understand engine exhaust light, what I remember wasn't anything like that it was a fixed glow like looking at the window of a lit room.
If they are visitors they aren't very good at being stealthy or at navigating considering the number supposedly crashing given they must be technically advanced.

What if they're dimensional? Everything in the Universe vibrates at different frequencies. What if, for a short while, those frequencies match ours and they become visible.

Alien abductions ? Anal probes ? Strange encounters ?
Maybe that possibility could go someways to explaining so much collective xenophobia, paranoia and fear of the unknown among certain Brits on here..

Fascinating.
I have read of similar stories, one a policeman going home from duty saw something odd ahead of him, then his memory was lost for hours, the next time he was conscious of anything hours had past and he was miles away from where he saw the lights...or whatever it was he saw..
