Ex-Trump lawyer Cohen gets 3 years in prison
Temple Daily Telegram· 18 minutes ago
Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen has been sentenced to three years in prison for crimes including hush-money payments that prosecutors say Trump ordered.
Cohen said his "blind loyalty" to Trump led him to cover up Trump's "dirty deeds."
Cohen said at his sentencing Wednesday that he takes "full responsibility" for the crimes he admitted committing. But he went on to say his allegiance to Trump led him "to take a path of darkness instead of light."
Cohen has pleaded guilty to dodging taxes, lying to Congress and violating campaign finance laws.

Will the lawyer's lawyer appeal?
Will he take tips from Kushner's ex jailbird dad?
Will Trump pay visits to his prison with luxury food parcels?

Interesting. One of the methods used to bury stories is something called a Catch and Kill. You have a magazine buy the rights to a woman's story, and then they never publish it. Then you repay the mag.
Trump did this with the National Enquirer...
Trump and David Pecker, publisher of the Enquirer's parent company, American Media are friends and associates.
Concurrent with the sentencing of lawyer Cohen, American Media signed a non-prosecution agreement, admitting that it bought the rights specifically to avoid the adverse campaign publicity:
So, now not only the lawyer, Michael Cohen admits Trump's guilt, but America Media as well. Were Trump not president, he would probably be guilty of Election finance violation, Election fraud and Conspiracy to commit a fraud against the United States, among others.
Unfortunately, under Justice Department protocols, a sitting president may not be indicted.

Bloomberg•December 12, 2018
(Bloomberg) -- National Enquirer publisher American Media Inc. agreed to accept responsibility for its role in a $150,000 payment to silence a former Playboy Playmate about her alleged affair with Failing Cheeto-Faced Ferret-Wearing Shit Gibbon before the election.
Under a non-prosecution agreement, the company admitted its purpose was to suppress the woman’s story and prevent it from influencing the election. According to the cooperation agreement with AMI, Trump’s longtime lawyer Michael Cohen and another campaign official met with AMI Chairman David Pecker about the scheme around August 2015. That official’s involvement has not been previously reported.
The announcement came shortly after Cohen was sentenced to 3 years in prison, in part for his role in the hush payment, which he has said was directed by Trump.
The prosecutors said they’d previously reached a non-prosecution agreement with AMI about its role in making the payment before the 2016 presidential election.
“As a part of the agreement, AMI admitted that it made the $150,000 payment in concert with a candidate’s presidential campaign, and in order to ensure that the woman did not publicize damaging allegations about the candidate before the 2016 presidential election,” the prosecutors wrote in a statement announcing the deal.
A spokesman for the company declined to comment.

It was a plea deal, with a sentence indeterminate. There is no appeal absent special circumstances. What we learned yesterday is what the sentence will be.
The US Attorney who put Charles Kushner away, Chris Christie, has moved on to become Governor of New Jersey, and thence is now with the Trump team. I'm told there have been some testy exchanges in the Cabinet room, and Jared has vetoed Christie from ever becoming Attorney General.
Trump and Attorney Michael Cohen have had a severe parting of ways. As a part of his plea deal, Cohen allocated, in substance, that Trump was his co-conspirator in the hush money payoffs. Another powerful witness agrees, and corroborates Cohen's story that Trump was the co-conspirator.
Trump retorts that Cohen is a steadfast liar, ironically neglecting to mention that he was lying to protect Trump's ass. Trump also points to Cohen's law license, and claims he (Trump) was acting on advice of counsel. Problem: in order to plead 'advice of counsel' you must prove you first asked the counsel. So far from asking, Trump is captured on tape ordering the lawyer to make the hush money payments. Oppps...

Cohen. Corrupt to the core. Grubby.
You'd feel compelled to wipe your feet when you walk out of his office.

To be sure.
And, just imagine how much more filthy you'd feel when you walked out of Trump's office. He's the symbol of America right now.

Re: Trump's lawyer gets 3-years
Without a doubt, this has been a most productive week for Trump. We have proven collusion with Russia, obstruction of justice, lying to federal agents, espionage, mail and wire fraud, computer fraud and abuse act violations, lying to Congress, and foreign corrupt practices act, with Russian infiltration into the NRA, and conspiracy against the US. And that's just in one week.
What's on for next week?
