Brazil elects new president - Why are the left wing BBC and guardian claiming he is 'far right'...?
First topic message reminder :
Jair Messias Bolsonaro is a Brazilian politician and former military officer who is the President-elect of Brazil. He has served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies, representing the state of Rio de Janeiro, since 1991. He is a member of the Social Liberal Party.
BBC headline...
Jair Bolsonaro: Far-right candidate wins Brazil poll
Guardian headline...
Far-right candidate Jair Bolsonaro wins presidential vote – as it happened
Can anyone explain what it is that makes him 'far right'...???
Or are the left wing media lying again...?
Just like they do when they try to label other political party's as 'far right', in UK and across Europe...?

All I've said is that many of those who are labelled as 'far right' are actually very left wing socialist in their policies...

You cannot even define the Far Right, so you cannot say what is and isn't Far Right.

Its those here who claim people are far right, who cannot define it properly... as most of those are actually left wing socialist in their policies...
I know what left wing socialist policies are, and these are clearly exhibited by most of those who are mis-labled as far right...

You haven't defined it at all, so how can you say anyone is wrong?

Too true that, Eilzel !!!
AS I said earlier..
Tommy hasn't defined anything; all he keeps on doing is parroting pure blather from other equally delusional propogandists, and probably fellow trolls, from a couple of his favourite neo-nazi blogsites.
Despite being given genuine definitions and examples over the past year or two from several people around here, deranged master troll Tommy keeps on keeping on, arrogantly using his personal "definitions" to push his increasingly insane arguments..

I think Karl Popper defined it very well in his book, The Open Society and Its Enemies--The Spell of Plato (1945):
Contrary to major Plato scholars of his day, Popper divorced Plato's ideas from those of Socrates, claiming that the former in his later years expressed none of the humanitarian and democratic tendencies of his teacher. In particular, Popper accuses Plato of betraying Socrates in the Republic, wherein Plato portrays Socrates sympathizing with totalitarianism (see: Socratic problem).
Popper extols Plato's analysis of social change and discontent, naming him as a great sociologist, yet rejects his solutions. This is dependent on Popper's reading of the emerging humanitarian ideals of Athenian democracy as the birth pangs of his coveted "open society". Plato's hatred of democracy led him, says Popper, "to defend lying, political miracles, tabooistic superstition, the suppression of truth, and ultimately, brutal violence." Popper feels that Plato's historicist ideas are driven by a fear of the change that liberal democracies bring about. Also, as an aristocrat and a relative of one-time Athenian dictator Critias, Plato according to Popper was sympathetic to the oligarchs of his own day and contemptuous of the common man. Popper also suspects that Plato was the victim of his own vanity, and had wished to become the supreme Philosopher King of his vision.
Popper's analysis of Plato's Republic, goes a long way toward explaining your ilk too, tommy. Extraneous purposes keep intruding into your thinking, and you are not following your own linear reasoning. E.g., you are just motivated to label everything bad as Left, and everything good as Right. It’s what motivates you to continually find anti-liberal themes in LW systems.

Wolf... I have defined a few of the so called far right as actually being left socialist in their policy...
And quill... it is the other way round... lefties think that all things left are good and anything right is nasty and bad... the mislabeling and misrepresentation of many as far right helps them to think that way...
I myself have often said that I am in favour of there being govt and taxes and public services, and I am also in favour of govt regulation of private businesses to ensure they operate fairly and responsibly as well as ensuring workers rights and protections etc... however I don't support left wing govts becoming to big or them trying to enforce their pet agendas and it is wrong for them to take extra taxes than necessary off everyone in order to pay for it...

Um, right now you are the one doing all the talking. I take it you don't agree with the lefties.

As long as the businesses and individuals likewise don't get too big. Keep government in parity with the governed. It won't do for Smalltown, Iowa, to be governing Boeing Aircraft and General Electric.

Actually, lefties here acknowledge the problems of the left, from SJWs on University campuses to the crimes of Mao and Stalin. You are the one who cannot explain the difference between Far Right and Left and as Quill says, just want to paint everything bad as leftist.
So, what defines the Far Right?

To Tommy, everything 'Far Right Wing' is always "sugar and spice and all things nice..".
And all of those who don't agree with Tommy's positions are automatically "to the left" of wherever Tommy's standing at the time..

Well... why do you keep saying people are far right when in fact they have very left wing socialist policies?
