Nice flag...
First topic message reminder :
So Ben decided he is going to put up all different flags from around the world every few days.
I think it’s a nice idea.

Well, anybody from a state that borders Mexico should recognize that flag, so it was no challenge at all for me or Quill

Right. When I lived in San Diego I used to work in Mexico, playing guitar at the beach clubs. That flag hangs on the Mexican border crossing station at San Ysidro every day.

Haha, in Texas that flag hangs in front of businesses hundreds of miles from the border.

It's a really shit banner now. The flag's all cockeyed and it jams right up against the text.
I might take another crack at it when I can't stand it anymore.

The Welsh are very proud of their flag, I love it too.
Was it on here someone said it looked like a childs drawing? I think it has real character.

Re: Nice flag...
The red dragon is the emblem of Cadwaladr, King of Gwynedd and was carried into battle with the colours of the House Of Tudor, green and white incorporated, by Henry Tudor, King Henry VII to the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.
After the battle it was carried in state to St. Paul's Cathedral. Henry claimed the throne through his mother and by right of conquest.

One day I hope you get to visit Wales Ben, it's unbelievably scenic...the mountains meet the sea, and it's always green, even in winter.
Summer is the best time to go though.

Absolutely - with a dash of German it must be said, which I also rather like and a sprinkling of Anglo Saxon but mainly Welsh or so my DNA test and family history reckons.

Britain is wonderful for scenery almost everywhere you turn there's something to see in landscape and coast not to mention the castles and other historic places you are almost tripping over. The regional accents are numerous and wonderful. Our islands are compact enough to see in a comparatively short time. What's not to like.

But then we wouldn't live in such a green and pleasant land if we didn't have the rain.

Arrrrrghhhhhhh!!!!!!! Old Peculiar????? Sacrilege!!! Infamy!!!
It's Peculier with an "e" ,my old mate... named after the medieval ecclesiastical Court of Peculiers.
And I reckon that I, as a Yokshireman born, bred and weaned on fine ale, would be jelly after four pints of Old Peculier. Bloody hell...I could have fired up my old De Havilland Vampire on an eggcup full of that stuff!

Bush was born in Connecticut or Texas, depending on which one you are talking about and this flag is neither of those states.

The idea was to put capitals in the center of whatever the territory or state, which only rarely was the largest city. Even Washington DC makes sense if you think of the 13 original colonies.
The original capital of the US was Philadelphia, where the Articles of Confederation were seated and the Constitution was written.
