He seems to have a lot of opinions, with no substantiation. He doesn't justify his claims, just moves on to the next one.
This Brexit thing is highly reminiscent of our Federalist debate, back in 1790. We were 13 individual states, with no coordination and lots of economic problems. The big one was: coastal port states charged inland states high tariffs for receiving goods and passing them on. When federalism got things organized, everyone benefited.
But at a tremendous loss of independence. There were huge cultural differences between New York, which was steeped in banking and commerce, and South Carolina, which was steeped in agriculture and slavery that drove the economy.
That is a cleavage that is still with us. And southern states still argue states rights, which is your Brexit argument. As the nation expanded, that one stayed with us, until the southern influence sort of petered out at the Texas/New Mexico border. California, Oregon and Washington, are totally with the northerners, except they are not land contiguous.
But no matter, California has the bulk of the US wealth now, and we are become the tail that wags the dog. Lol. My argument for the Pacific States of America is kinda like the Brexit argument for separation from Europe. But California can pull it off; I'm not sure the UK can.

I don't see why not, all we want is to be co operative as opposed to being compelled.

There is a strong similarity to the Pacific States independence. Only our cause is from the righteous left. We want to divorce the southern states.

We have had over 2 years of 'project fear' and bullshit from the remoaners now...!
We've had the referendum, and the decision has been made!!!
We voted to restore democracy to this country!!!

The negotiations are going to hell in a handcart. May is feeble, as is and were her Brexit team. It needed a tough, cross party team to show real intent. Many of the players in Government have a hidden agenda of becoming PM, which means they have less than 100% comittment to the task in hand.
A no deal is going to be an omnishambolic clusterfuck of epic proportions.

What is so hard to sort out...?
As we've all been told all these years that the EU is just about being a simple trade arrangement...!
