At least 14 people have reportedly been wounded, two of them seriously, in a knife attack on a bus in Germany.

And a backpack with smoke coming out of it...

A quick check can see why Tommy left that out.

A 34-year-old local man was arrested and taken into custody. Police said there was no indication the suspect had been politically radicalised.

They said on Twitter that 10 people were known to have been hurt. Local media reports put the number at 14.

An area around a bus stop in the city's Kücknitz neighbourhood was sealed off.

Police said a smoking backpack was found in the bus, containing a "fire accelerant" but no explosives.

"The exact number of injured is still unclear. There were no dead," police said in a statement. "The background to the crime is still unclear and is the subject of the ongoing investigation."

The statement added: "The identity of the perpetrator has been clarified: a 34-year-old German citizen resident in Lübeck. There are currently no indications the man was political radicalised and no signs of a terrorist background."

Still I am suspicious why again details are withheld on this???

Why would they say there is no indications so early into this, that the person was not politically radicalized?

Seems to me they are withholding the ethnicity/religion of the attacker and I guess that people do not come to the wrong conclusions. It seems to me, this will just add to it, by not stating. It seems there is this daft policy to deny facts from a criminal attack and then state there is no indication of terrorism.

It shows the BBC do want to hide something and are untrustworthy in reporting

At least the Guardian stated that the person is a German citizen and ethnically Iranian. Where the rightly state. "Nothing can be excluded, including a terrorist background.”

I originally read the story in the sun while having a browse through it in the cafe earlier today... and lucky I even spotted it at all as it was a tiny article about 10 pages in...

Then I looked on internet for more details...

My bit about smoking back pack should have been after the link, as it was a bit I added after seeing it mentioned elsewhere...

But why are you trying to suggest I am 'up to something' by posting that bit at all...?

While I agree that the BBC often seek to down play certain aspects in their reporting...

As do other news outlets... if things don't fit with their agenda...

Still not seen any mention on the TV news yet...!!!

And to me... I think the "fire accelerant" claim about the smoking backpack sounds highly dubious...

As if some islamist is going to start violently attacking members of public with a knife... but then say 'hold on a minute, let me just stop for a bit so I can take off my back pack and throw a lit match inside it'...?

And then only a bit of smoke...?

Sounds much more like an explosive that failed to go off properly to me!!!

And one which may well have contained a "fire accelerant"... but being down played by authorities and media...!!!

Just like the whole story is being down played across the whole of news... I mean... had I not noticed the tiny article hidden on page 10 of the Sun by chance, I wouldn't have known about it... and had I not posted it here, would any of you known about it...?
