Cave Rescue in Thailand
Four boys so far, from a group of 12 boys and their soccer coach, have been rescued from a flooded cave in Thailand, where they have been trapped for over a week..

What a scary time for them all. They still need to get more out. Hope they're successful soon.

Re: Cave Rescue in Thailand
A prime example of international co-operation in this rescue effort; countries providing 'elite' divers and rescue workers to assist the Thais have included :
Australia
Britain
China
Israel
Laos
Myanmar
USA..
As well as the divers and rescue experts numbering over 90 people on site, the accompanying military, police and medical personnel, local volunteers and support services have brought the total up to around a thousand people being involved over the past fortnight; plus a couple of hundred journalists camped nearby..

Hopfully they will all be rescued and all fully recover from their ordeal.
Its tragic that a heroic diver lost his life whilst trying to reach the lads.
Has any reason been given why the adult in the group decided to enter the caves in the first place.

I read last week that this is something they've done before, at this time of year, and there was never a problem.
There are signs warning not to go too far into the cave during rainy season. I figure that experience may led the coach to assume it would be fine. In Thailand there is a common phrase, "Mai Pen Rai", which roughly translates as "everything will be fine" and is used to brush aside talk of any problems or risks. It can seem baffling to foreigners, but is a big part of Thai culture.
Regardless, I think the coach has paid 10x over for any mistake on his part. Photos show him incredibly gaunt looking owing to his giving up food for the boys, who he alone kept safe for 9 days.
Hoping for this to be over by the end of today

I read the coach had refused food so the boys could eat, Im sure he must blame himself , but obviously he had no way of knowing the tragedy that would unfold.
God willing they all get out without any more deaths.

Cause for celebration, but I hope the hero who died in the rescue is never forgotten.

A true hero.
I have watched/listened to news on several channels in the last day or two, none have mentioned this man, I find that really sad.

Re: Cave Rescue in Thailand
I bet nobody hear heard this reality, because the company was Israeli
Yet time and again it is Israeli's who are leading the world in technological advances. From advances in solving the global water crisis to advances in medical science. Yet they pushed to the back pages with this, based on the political policies of their own governement.
That is completely wrong

Israel are leaders in many fields, but because they are Jews they don't get the praise they are entitled to !
