So we got married today ...
Me and edds, and it really was beautiful and lovely and nice but one thing did go wrong, because it's us and of course it did, but we forgot (okay, I forgot) to bring the marriage certificate, so we ended up waiting nearly an hour from when we planned to have our ceremony.
But other than that, I can't wait to start the rest of my life with this beautiful firecracker of a woman. Thank you, NewsFix, for introducing me to the woman I will call my wife until the day I die.
And probably even after that, because she's bringin' me back fam.

Re: So we got married today ...
I’m a very happy English girl!
We had all the important people there that we loved, Ben’s family and my little girl was our flower girl.
We will have a celebration in England, when Ben next comes over, with my family.
We are both very happy and plan to get wankered on some fine champagne and whiskey.
And, of course, now I will stay chained to the kitchen sink and the bed until I’m allowed outside....

Congratulations to you both once again!!!
But what is this? In the US it's the couple who have to bring the certificate? That's different
I'm sure you'll have a great life together, and overcome whatever hurdles you come up against. Two of the loveliest people on the internet imho

Hearty congratulations from an old geezer who enjoyed more than half a century of matrimonial happiness.

May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow
May the soft winds freshen your spirit
May the sunshine brighten your heart
May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you
And may God enfold you in the mantle of His love.
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
and the rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again my friend
May God hold you in the hollow (palm) of his hand
May God be with you and bless you
May you see your children’s children
May you be poor in misfortunes and rich in Blessings
May you know nothing but happiness
from this day forward
But rich or poor, quick or slow,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.
May the joys of today
Be those of tomorrow.
May the soft winds freshen your spirit
May the sunshine brighten your heart

Re: So we got married today ...
I have been in awe all weekend over this.
Two lost souls, that came together in the most unusual of places, that have found love. Two people I respect and love myself. Two people who would stop at nothing to help each other and always place others before themselves. Two unselfish people that have been drawn to each other on a forum. I cannot think of a better compliment to say about how people should never lose hope. Both have been through many tribulations and yet were drawn to each other. To the point they found they had a kindred spirit.
I truely am in awe and admiration for you both. You have shown everyone on this forum an example to aspire to be. That love conquers all. I am truely so happy for you both. You are both a fine example, someone athiest and someone spiritual, both equallly skeptical. That shattered the barriers found between most people. You found common ground.
Love
True love
Like I say I am in awe and you are both a real insperation to everyone here
Congratulations to you both and I wish you the best on your journey ahead together in life. As no matter that you certainly hold different beliefs and views. You show how bridges can be built between people.
You are both an inspiration to us all
Hope you both stay gold

Instead of trying to get here as Eddie's spouse, and having to meet the criteria that is set for that etc... wouldn't it be easier to try to get here on some sort of work/study visa and applying as a single person, ie less rules/regulations/criteria to have to comply with...?

There is a very short list of occupations that the UK will consider sponsoring, a welder, or a sonogram reader being among that silly list.
Strangely, being a published author is on the list....
We need to raise £44K or publish and sell our book.

It’s finished and edited (by Ben), and we have contacted numerous literary agents (a few have shown some interest) but we are thinking of just self-publishing.
We are getting quite a following on our FB Page so we are hoping they’re all willing to buy a copy.
