I sincerely pray that more lies and shit and corruption are uncovered but mostly I hope that people just stop doggedly believing what their country is trying to sell them and start realising that they don’t have to continue to believe something because their parents did.

You only lie if you have reason to lie.  I never knew Dr. Obama to lie.  On the other hand, Bill Clinton had big reasons to lie.

Republicans perennially have big reasons to lie.  They represent special interests, a minority of the voter population.  They have to lie in order to cultivate voters to ignore their personal interests and cross-over to vote for them...hence, the Republican incursions into social issues, such as abortion, the flag, and other inconsequential nonsense. Also, patriotism is a big motivator...start a war to gain popularity. The Iraq war was a big hit, initially.

It's not personal to me. IT'S SIMPLY THE TRUTH! Look to the motives. No one can refute the thesis on that. After all, one lies for a reason.

Right. Republicans have different motives than Democrats. Motive to act counts for everything. Democrats don't need to lie. They are not covering up the fact that they work against the interests of the people.

The Democratic Party aligns itself with the conclusions of thousands of people who have been working for decades, independently, all around the world, and who have no motive to lie, on everything from global warming to homosexuality to tax policy to fighting terrorism.

The Republican Party makes it a habit to disagree with every position that Democrats take, even if it's a former Republican position like the individual mandate in the health care system or cap and trade to reduce carbon emissions. So naturally, logically, they're going to find themselves lying far more often than Democrats.

People need oxygen to live. Is that too big of a generalization for you? You generalize over gestalts that you observe and realize are the truth.

To say that peoples' actions are caused by their motives is not so great a generalization. And when people organize into factions, which a political party is, then their motives determine their actions. Republicans and Democrats are not merely different brands, but different kinds. Democrats exist for problem solving of public problems. Republicans exist to serve narrow, special interests.

Didn't you just observe that the sole legislation of the Republican Congress last year was a gross tax cut that overwhelmingly serves the wealthy, and only tangentially serves up a tease for everyone else, in order to deceive the poor and middle class. There, in a nutshell, you see the Republicans serving the wealthy, AND an embedded little lie to distract and deceive the commoners.
