Boy wins Texas girls wrestling title 2nd year in a row.

Apparently he has been transitioning for two years now.

Mack Beggs won a Texas girls state wrestling championship for the second year in a row with a victory that, once again, brought a mixture of cheers and boos because Beggs is a transgender athlete.

Beggs, an 18-year-old senior at Trinity High in Euless, began the transition from girl to boy a few years ago and has been taking low-level testosterone injections but is competing in the girls competition because of a decision by the University Interscholastic League after an uproar and a lawsuit last winter. Because the testosterone comes from a physician, the UIL does not regard it as a banned substance.

Although Beggs, whose given name is Mackenzie, has stated a preference for competing in the boys’ division, the UIL requires athletes to compete against the gender that is listed on their birth certificate. Beggs has gone 36-0 this year, wrestling in the 110-pound class.

we have the issue the opposite way round here in AFLW
there is a Former Male Athlete that is now Transwoman that want to play but she is like 6'3 and built like a man still.


I think there needs to be a 3rd Gender completion, or people have to accept you can't have everything and if you undergo transsexual treatments then you can't compete in traditional competitions

Wasn't Renee Richards such an athlete? Born a man, she joined the tennis tour and played as a woman. She had to take her case to the New York courts and won.

Yes, but in the Texas case, the wrestler was born a female, but has been taking testosterone for a few years, which is why she is really more of a he, but not a he based on her birth certificate.

One more complication in believing transgender people are to be treated as the gender they prefer.

Not yet. He was female organs, but is taking a substance (testosterone) which is illegal for female athletes to take unless they have decided they want to be a man. It's a fucking mess.

He/she shouldn’t have been allowed to compete until their sex was sorted out. Simple.
