Last words of famous people.
The alleged last words ever spoken by famous people.
What would you like your last words to be??
I love J DeMaggio's contribution.

Re: Last words of famous people.
Tragically very precise.
"I'M SHOT"
Mark Chapman, the man who shot Lennon, met the Beatles' singer just hours before shooting him and asked him to sign an album outside the Dakota building in New York City. As Lennon and Yoko retuned after a stint at the recording studio, Chapman shot Lennon and then calmly walked to the side and flipped open a copy of JD Salinger's Catcher in the Rye. A bloodied Lennon staggered into the building saying "I'm shot", and that was the last time anyone heard him speak.

Re: Last words of famous people.
I said to Ben just last night, that a great headstone epitaph would be:
“When I was alive I looked for any excuse not to go to work. Now I have the best one ever”
Actually I said it far more eloquently than that but I’ll be fucked if I can remember.

Louise-Marie-Thérèse de Saint Maurice, Comtesse de Vercellis let one rip while she was dying. She said, “Good. A woman who can fart is not dead.”

Lol...that reminds me of a scene in Dinnerladies, Julie Walters played the reckless old mother who was videoing her last requests as she lay dying in bed.
She shifted her body and loudly farted as she was saying her last words.

Great minds think alike Nicko.
I thought that remark he made was very witty, normally I didn't find him that funny..I never really got the goon sort of humour really.

King George V (when told by his doctor that he would soon be well enough to visit the seaside resort of Bognor Regis again): "Bugger Bognor."
Or, my greatest hero Oliver Cromwell when asked by a servant if he would like a drink: "It is not my design to drink or sleep. My design is to make what haste I can to be gone."

I love the epitaph that is written over a grave in the graveyard of the western town of Tombstone, AZ:
Here lies Lester Moore,
Four shots from a 44,
No less,
No more.

While it’s funny, it’s also a tourist trap
Lester Moore, with the famous epitaph "Here lies Lester Moore, Four slugs from a .44, No Less No more." Lester Moore was purportedly a Wells, Fargo & Co. station agent in the border town of Naco who died in a shootout with Hank Dunstan over a mangled package. There was never anyone named Lester Moore who was killed in Arizona Territory,[citation needed] and there is no evidence to indicate where Dunstan (who also died in the purported shootout) was buried.

On my phone if I click on the picture a new tab pops up with the full size photograph. But I thought I had set the margins properly. Bloody technology. Anyhoos, it’s a great book. I think you would like it.
