People can get charged with many things if the intent is hate, for example:
Yeovil man Joshua Bonehill-Paine due in court tomorrow charged with posting offensive Facebook message about UKIP leader Nigel Farage

Wow, that shut them up right quick! :D
Fact of the matter is, Christianity doesn't have the tradition of avoidance of damage to the Bible that Islam has ... that Mark Stephenson knew exactly what he was doing.

Hmmm using a previos ID of mine only ever used by me on one forum, how odd.
I agree it is absurd, but the reason behind ripping up the pages was hate, that of Islam, whether that should be an offense is agreed silly

"tradition of avoidance of damage to the Bible that Islam has"
what you mean is Christians don't riot and murder when their faith is offended the way Muslims do

It will be interesting to find out the details of this crime.
What exactly did he do? How many people witnessed it? Did any muslims witness it?
What is the reason the police arrested and charged him? As a publicity stunt to appease certain "communities" or because he really did incite racial hatred.
