New Poll Reveals Generations Prepared To Sell Each Other Out Over Brexit
A new poll has revealed different generations are willing to sell each other out over Brexit.
The research by YouGov showed people are so polarised over the referendum result that one in four young Remain voters would see pensions cut to stop Brexit, while the same proportion of older Brexit voters are willing to accept reduced wages for the next generation in order to secure it.
Commissioned by social mobility charity The Challenge on behalf of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on social integration, the poll also shows:
- 62% of over-65s think we were right to vote Leave (compared to just 19% of 18-24-year-olds.
- When asked how the government should proceed with Brexit, older voters were five times more likely to say we should leave right away (39% compared to 8%).
- Nearly three-quarters of young people who voted Remain believe older people are prejudiced, and a similar percentage of older Leave voters believe young people are entitled and unwilling to work hard.

Both sides will probably get their wishes...
Pensioners will still see welfare cuts anyway, to fund those promised further corporate tax breaks..
Wth a couple of million extra younger unemployed workers as a result of an economy in decline.

In a year or two you won't find a single person who will admit to voting for remain.

With the ever-increasing casualisation of your workforce, "zero hour" contracts, corporate attacks on minimum wages and conditions, against less hours wotked and flat wage growth, your average British workers in a couple of years will so busy chasing more work, that they won't have time to answer anyone's post-Brexit questions...

I've said before on here, Tommy, that I don't consider Tony Blair and his "third way" right-wing Labour party faction to be a genuine pro-worker/left-leaning socially-responsible Labour Party -- but more of an opportunistic ''more pragmatic" mob, who still clung onto some of that disproven Thatcherist/Reaganomics "trickle down" nonsense; and happily followed GWB and John Howard into Gulf War II, purely so they could make political mileage out of it...
Labour under Blair was more akin to the centre-right Liberals down here, than they were to the old-school 'socialist' parties (you only need look to where Blair appears on the various 'political spectrum' diagrams)..
Which also resulted in your current British Labour Party's "jump to the left.." under Corbyn and his supporters, once Blair had left the stage.

Re: New Poll Reveals Generations Prepared To Sell Each Other Out Over Brexit
Tory Brexiteers fear Theresa May is being bounced by her top civil servants Jeremy Heywood and Olly Robbins into a non-Brexit which prevents us from diverging from the EU after we leave. Leavers have been pragmatic, calm and willing to compromise throughout the Brexit process so far. This is really the first time things are in danger of seriously kicking off. This line in the draft text apparently agreed by Number 10 has caused genuine fears among all Brexiteers:
“In the absence of agreed solutions, the UK will maintain full alignment with the internal market, customs union…”
This is wholly unacceptable, it is almost unbelievable Number 10 would sign it off. Guido bumped into Lord Trimble last night and showed him this line, he stared at it for some time as if having difficulty believing it could be real before commenting: “This is surely not something the British government could sign up to”.
Brexiteers believe Heywood and Robbins are taking advantage of a weak Downing Street to force through a Brexit which keeps us too closely aligned to Brussels. Guido reported in September that Heywood and Robbins were seeking a softer EEA minus model, there are now genuine fears of a stitch up and Number 10 choosing a route closer to that than the real Brexit preferred by Boris, Gove and Fox, and demanded by the referendum result. A Whitehall source says May is “way too reliant” on Robbins. It is baffling that they appear to have conceded alignment on agriculture between the EU and the whole of the UK – could the Environment Secretary really live with that? There are also serious concerns that May could drop the ECJ red line from her Lancaster House speech. Leavers are seeing the situation as salami slices being given away until eventually there is no salami left.
There is also disbelief that May did not consult Cabinet about what they were about to concede. A Whitehall source tells the Sun: “Cabinet is in the dark about what the PM is doing now, which is a very strange state of affairs to be in”. A Cabinet source tells the Telegraph: “The Prime Minister is playing a risky game”. Brexiteers are asking who in is in charge: is it Heywood and Robbins bouncing a weak May into a softer Brexit, or is it May trying to bounce the Brexiteers? It is more likely to be the former. May knows she owes her position to keeping Leavers onside – if she sells out they won’t stand for it.

all of that is due to the mass immigration of cheap foreign labour from the EU
eastern Europeans willing to work for peanuts has driven wages down, why would an employer hire a brit to do a £16/h job when he can exploit two eastern Europeans into doing the same job for £8/h
businesses have already admitted that they will have to hire more British workers after Brexit, which means its a win win for the British workforce, wages will have to increase as the manpower pool depletes and competition comes back.
saturation of the workplace drives wages down, competition drives them
good lord you lefties really are ignorant on how the market works

Theresa May is looking more bent over and worn out as the days go on. You can almost see the burden she's carrying.

You and your Master Deano are the ones who obviously don't understand the markets...
That's why they're always doing the opposite to what you two keep on predicting and hoping for..
And then you lamely try and blame "immigrants", lefties and Muslims for those poor contrary results, and your continually failing predictions.
Classic..

Hardly a surprise that the tax dodging multimillionaires and big businesses are creating an environment where they can exploit cheap foreign labour.
