Sign Language Interpreter Warned Of Bears, Pizza, And Monsters During Irma Briefing
Government officials in Manatee County, Florida did a lousy job hiring an interpreter for the deaf during an emergency briefing related to Hurricane Irma.
The interpreter, Marshall Greene, has a brother who is deaf, but he's clearly not fluent in American Sign Language.
Greene mostly signed gibberish, referencing "pizza," "bears", and "monsters," during the briefing.
