Colleen Roony...long suffering wife
First topic message reminder :
Once more he has been caught with a slapper.....how much is too much for his wife, pregnant with his fourth child, to put up with?
http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/humiliated-coleen-rooney-considering-70million-11103628
"Shattered Coleen has put up with years of heartbreaking betrayals by Wayne.
In 2010, he slept with former £1,000-a-night call girls Jenny Thompson and Helen Wood when Coleen was expecting.
He also reportedly tried to bed BA worker Rebecca Haynes during his boozy stag jaunt in Ibiza.
Six years earlier in 2004 the Sunday Mirror revealed he paid £140 to romp with prostitute Charlotte Glover, then 21 – and left her with a signed autograph as a souvenir.
A month later he had sex with prostitute Gina McCarrick, 37, at a brothel in Liverpool, which he visited 10 times.
He was also caught entering a £45-a-time brothel where he had sex with a 48-year-old gran known as the “Auld Slapper”. She was said to have worn a rubber catsuit"

Yes, and you're not in her shoes and yet you assume that she should not put up with his behaviour.

Or perhaps she's having sex with the gardener and thinks "fair dos"
If someone cheated on me it would game over, without a shadow of a doubt.
Women obviously see things differently, I personally find it hard to understand why any woman would put up with a husband like him.
It would be good to hear some male opinions...though they tend to steer clear of threads like this.
Okay then! This guy has temptation every single day, most likely. I feel for him, really I do, because his life isn't normal and he probably doesn't even realize it.
But at the end of the day, he made a promise, and you just don't break your promises. If she wasn't enough for him, or him for her, they should have made it explicit from the beginning and come to some sort of weird agreement I wouldn't understand because I had a normal upbringing wherein when you commit to somebody you actually mean it.
Make no mistake, there's something in a lot of men that says "fuck anything that moves." And yeah, women cheat as well -- usually going for the opposite of what they have (women who marry the sensitive type tend to cheat with the surly assholes, women who marry the surly assholes tend to cheat with the sensitive types, because people as a rule are fundamentally boxed-in and stupid and don't understand they can be more than one thing at once).
But at the end of the day, I think when you make a promise to someone you love and then break it, for whatever reason, you're being weak as a person and abusive to your partner.
Re: Colleen Roony...long suffering wife
The question isn't whether or not he should be doing this stuff, the question is whether or not she should have put up with it - it's not the first time after all.
I just think that it's entirely up to her. She keeps having children with him, so she must think of the relationship as long term, and she had no plans to leave.

You're not going to catch me arguing against the idea that people are strange and do things the rest of us would not expect. I think everyone's personal story is complicated and weird to all outsiders, so ultimately it really is up to them to decide if their lives are as they would like to live.

Exactly. There's been some talk of the "sisterhood", as if all women should think the same way, but they don't. The way one woman would react isn't the same as how another would react.

That's why I always said people shouldn't judge Hillary Clinton too harshly for staying with Bill despite the cheating. We don't know their relationship, full stop. She had her reasons and absent of being a bad person, she didn't deserve to be raked over the coals for forgiving him.

I really do think that if people could get past trying to tell others how they should live, we'd all be much better off. Focus on making sure people aren't being hurt, and if they're not, well, if they want to stick with a cheater, that's their business. If they want to smoke or eat tons of red meat, etc., okay, express your concern for them, but it's ultimately their choice, not ours. Just live and let live, and get comfortable with the fact that some of us like mayonnaise and others prefer mustard and it doesn't really matter when all's said and done.

Re: Colleen Roony...long suffering wife
The point is she isn't happy, is she? So it's all very well saying "oh live and let live!" - that's fine if that's what she's saying, but she's not.
He's treating her like shit and she doesn't seem able to leave him. When her kids get older and understand that daddy is poking up everyone, what then?
Sorry but it's true that we don't know anyone's lives etc and it's true that it's not our business but there are kids involved here.

Sometimes outsiders can see clearer than the person involved.....but everyone obviously has to make their own choices in life.

Even if she's not happy, it's still up to her. Nobody is forcing her to stay, and it seems she has her own money, so she's not obliged to stay. She had the children even though she knew what he was like, so that was up to her as well.

That's all true. But what if it was your sister, who's husband was doing this to her and ultimately, their kids?
It's a little different when you put yourself inside the situation.
Or what if Rooney were your brother? You'd be pretty pissed off with him.
Dude you know me, I'm all for everyone doing what they feel is right, and living their own lives - you don't need to tell US of all people, right? - but this situation isn't making anyone happy.
And stop picking on mayonnaise.

Re: Colleen Roony...long suffering wife
In a rush ...some good points made in this thread though.
I don't criticise the woman for staying, I criticise the man for cheating,
I understand and have said that there are many reasons people will stay when they are treated badly, but one day she will say enough is enough....maybe when he has passed on something awful, maybe when she just looks at him and sees a weak and ugly man.
I do wonder why she stays though....she deserves so much better.

I hope they patch up the faultlines in their marriage asap. 4 kids without a dad sounds GRIM ... for everyone concerned!

Let's face it, if Rooney wasn't who he is with millions, no women would look at him.

He does realise his life is different to the norm, because like most footballers he was born and brought up in a working class family in a working class environment, and that's where the rest of his family still are.
Colleen comes from the same place, they both remain close to their families, Colleen is especially close to her mum and dad.
He will have women hurtling themselves at him obviously for his fame and money and he would be perfectly entitled to use that to his advantage if he was single or had the sort of marriage that condoned that....but he doesn't.
He is the worst kind of cheat, grabbing whatever female comes along whilst living a life of a family man breeding with a decent woman, who obviously kids herself that that he wont cheat again....yet he always does.
I agree 100% with the rest of your post.

Exactly. There's been some talk of the "sisterhood", as if all women should think the same way, but they don't. The way one woman would react isn't the same as how another would react.
The sisterhood isn't a brain washing club you know.
Its just the attitude of women helping out other women, backing and supporting them if they need it, and the most dedicated actively fighting for their rights.
Without the sisterhood women wouldn't have the vote or anywhere near the status they are gradually getting in the workplace.
Its just a word, but it helps every woman whether they know it or not.

Well the papers are full of the news that she just may do that.
I feel incredibly sorry for her. She has apparently even spoke to the latest slapper on the phone to try to find out what exactly happened, how sad that she is relying on the words of a potential home wrecker/money grabber because she cant trust her own husband.
My view on their marriage is that they love each other (his idea of love obviously differs from hers) that they get on together, know each other inside out, enjoy the life they have together, and love their kids together...in other words, they are happy, till he once again potentially throws it all away on yet another cheap one night shag.
But like most woman who are being physically battered, they take so much then they get out for good....I think the same applies to women married to serial cheaters.

But why do you expect women to support other women just because they're women? Getting the vote is not at all the same thing - that was to do with women's rights, and the women who fought for it wanted to be able to vote themselves. If they hadn't been bothered, I doubt they would have done so.

The woman she spoke to was very upfront and honest, I must say. I think it's a bit unfair to call her a marriage wrecker or money grabber.

I'm with rags. It's Rooney who cheated, the other woman was just doing her job.

Listen, any woman who allows and encourages a man to bed her, or hopes he will, when she knows he is married with 3 children and a pregnant wife is a slut and a potential home wrecker.

Unfair??
I think she is getting a lot more than that on social media, latest reports are she has gone into hiding.

The onus is on him to behave properly, not her. If there's a divorce, he wrecked the home, not her.

'Now', being the operative word. She was a Spice Girl for sure, but she had and has no singing talent. I'm sure she'd have eventually ended up like 'ol Scary.
I admire her for creating a multi million pound business in her own name.

Yes I agree its him that he has been unfaithful and its him who has ultimately wrecked his marriage and broke his wifes heart.Raggamuffin wrote:Syl wrote:

Coleen's marriage has never looked strong to me, I think it has been limping along for a while now.
I hope they patch up the faultlines in their marriage asap. 4 kids without a dad sounds GRIM ... for everyone concerned!
Hi Jules, great to see you.
We were just arguing mayonnaise. WTF is Salad Cream...and is it lactose?
Salad cream comes in a bottle. I like the sweet and tangy taste.
Mayo you could make at home from basic ingredients. It is more modern and more popular than salad cream.
Dunno about the lactose thing.

Salad cream looks like a creamy Italian salad dressing. Is it?

Doing her job. Yes. It won't be her first time and she will make some money from this.

Not sure if its a job, but its reported (so it could be true or not, I suspect it is) that she is on a dating website that advertises younger women looking for older men with money....young women commonly known as prostitutes in my day...unless the old men with money are just looking for scrabble partners.eddie wrote:Syl wrote:

I'm not knocking scrabble...I play a mean game myself.
I suppose it could be quite erotic for a young girl old man in the right mood....
find a 7 letter word (and get 50 bonus points) beginning with F ??
Its FINANCE by the way...something she is looking for in a man.
