neither is better or worse than the other, both are convenient fictions and both are misinterpreted.

question...is the bible the inerrant and therefor immutable word of god...yes or no
is the koran the inerrant and therefor immutable word of god via the prophet...yes or no

neither is what it claims to be, both are man derived fictions and ancient records, mashed together with a helping of allegory, to produce something which justified the rise of the monarchy system and all that that implies.

so what IS going on here?

ask a christian if its ok to kill a homosexual and 99% will say no

are these people then "bad christians"?

as a moslem if its ok to kill a homsexual and a far lower % will say no, are these then bad muslims?

the answer you will get to the above questions will entirely depend upon where you ask the question

and it raises further questions...like

if the answer IS no, are the people concerned allowed to cherry pick their "beliefs" or not.

how a religious text is "interpreted" is a matter of education one would suppose, BUT given that these texts are supposed to be inerrant the mere act of considering "interpreting" is of course blasphemy(heresy??)

So to an extent I know exactly where you are coming from, I think we have discussed this in the past.
The solution....I dont know. I doubt there is one that is either simple OR palatable. Me, I would ban outright any "organised religion" the whole lot of em are as mad as a box of frogs.

you strike me as not having read the qur'an and you clearly don't understand how Islam is structured as a religion and how its promulgated to its believers

you are approaching this from a rational,logical and purely analytical viewpoint which is fine for a "non-partisan" perspective

unfortunately you cannot hold Islam up next to christian and ask generic questions of both and expect to get a reliable comparison since each religion is fundamentally different to the other

and that includes things like "interpretation"
