Iain Duncan Smith faces a grilling from MPs tomorrow over his botched Universal Credit project.

The embattled Work and Pensions Secretary will be quizzed about the waste of more than £130million on his welfare shake-up.

He will be asked to explain the spiralling cost of the scheme, which had been due this year but is delayed for at least two years amid chaos over its new computer system.

His Work and Pension Committee showdown comes as a Tory insider claims Chancellor George Osborne and Cabinet Office Minister Francis Maude have “lost confidence” in IDS – dubbed “In Deep Shambles” by Labour. ://?roflmao?/:  ://?roflmao?/:  ://?roflmao?/:

One senior Tory source said: “He’s hopeless. George Osborne and Frances Maude have lost any confidence in his ability to deliver Universal Credit smoothly. It’s not on time or on budget and the whole thing is a disaster.”

Sources close to ex-Tory leader Mr Duncan Smith insisted he was determined to plough on with the “vital reform”, which will combine six benefits and tax credits.

In December, spending watchdogs highlighted how the chaotic introduction had seen £40million written off in assets that will never be used and £91million spent on assets that will only be useful for five years

This piece of shit should be sacked ASAP.
This will never be brought in anyway as Labour don't agree with and it won't be delivered before the next election, which the Tories will lose anyway.
