'Exceptional' British record shark caught off Cornwall
The biggest blue shark ever caught in British waters has been reeled in, smashing a 58-year-old record.
John Dines, from Essex, caught the 8.8ft (2.7m) creature, which weighed 256.5lb (113kg), on board a charter boat 10 miles off Cornwall in July. Skipper Robin 'Chippy' Chapman called it "just an insane fish" and said it was safely released afterwards.
The Shark Angling Club of Great Britain (SACGB) has verified it as a new British record.

Very kewl for British waters. But after the white shark, everything else is fair-to-middlin.

Over 1MILLION sharks are killed by man each year......I'm surprised they are not extinct.

Watch a program on TV some time ago, Sharks were being caught, their fins cut off, and the Shark thrown back to die in the Sea. All so the fucking Chinese could have Shark fin Soup. The CHINESE disgust me with the cruel killing of different Animals because they believe the parts of them cure some illness or other !

Saw a young Bull shark in the local creek here a couple of years back...
By now, it's probably nearing the size of that wee li'l beastie in the photo' there..
Well, getting there, at least.

Bull sharks are of particular concern because they are fresh water adaptable. We see a lot of them along the creeks and tributaries on the east coast of the US.
