Shocking undercover footage captured at one of America’s largest chicken companies has exposed some of the horrific reasons many US chickens need to be washed in bacteria-killing chlorine before going on sale. A fierce row has erupted between MPs in recent weeks about the prospect of chlorinated chicken - which is a fifth cheaper than British chicken - hitting the UK’s shelves post-Brexit. While 97% of American chicken is reportedly chlorinated, it is currently banned in the UK under EU rules over fears it incentivises lax hygiene and welfare protocols among farmers. Now, a disturbing video released by the Humane Society of the United States has revealed that some chickens in America are living in cramped conditions among the rotting corpses of other dead birds.

Unless it's truly organic, (and even then, who really knows?), chicken is a dodgy meat due to the horrific living conditions it has to endure. Even over here, they are deformed, caged into boxes in their hundreds and rolling around in their own excrement.

Quite honestly, even though my family still eat chicken, I have cooked it for them less and less lately.

Nobody is going to force the public to buy this shit. If you don't want to eat it, go buy organic. It's a no brainer.

And for those without the money to buy organic, there are other forms of protein just as nourishing.

Basic economics
in the MODERN world IF you want to be allowed to sell ANYTHING in the USA (that doesn't need the UK at all but is about the only large market the UK hasn't offended recently or has the slightest chance of entering) You need to negotiate a trade deal and the USA is very much in the position too change your laws in a 'take it or leave it' trade deal.

The UK is not part of the EU trading block anymore so has very little negotiation power, the UK government can't just listen and do what tommy wants if it wants to be able to trade with any nation now.

Australia, NZ, Canada, everyone has to make accommodations that the local electorate may not want in order to be a functional economy.

Setting policy is Westminster's job..
While the responsibility of enforcing such falls to the relevant authorities..
