How surgeons can stop the spread of germs by operating NAKED instead of wearing surgical gowns
[*]Study by University of Washington in US made the controversial claim
[*]Surgeons in the nude 'shed significantly less bacteria' than those in scrubs
[*]Material from the clothing rubs against the skin causing bacteria to spread
[*]But study also noted surgery in the nude was unlikely ever to happen

It might never happen...
But this study will probably still lead to better materials and designs being used in surgical 'scrubs'/gowns/smocks/uniforms and protective equipment, helping tp lower the possible transfer of germs even further ?

I've witnessed male surgeons operating nude (except for their underwear) in hospitals in both north and south of England. Not for the hygiene reasons you mentioned, but because the weather was so hot, and the air conditioning wasn't very good - they feared they would keel over on top of the patient!
I agree that this trend will not catch on, this happened a long time ago.

Hmmmm I can't see any surgeon actually wanting to do this and I can't see how it's more hygienic?

Yes I do didge, and it can be passed on via skin on skin hence why there are hygienic hand gels all over hospitals.
More to the point I can't see many surgeons wanting to do it.

Exactly and taken off straight after surgery, fresh ones worn before every surgery. How much cleaner can the surgeons get?

Because we have been brought up with such an absurd prudish view around our own naked bodies.
So if you now how it spreads, and this would help prevent that, why your previous comments?
