British tourists could soon be allowed to drive on the left in Calais so they feel more at home
For decades it has been the first port of call for British holidaymakers as they travel to their gites and chalets in rural France. But rolling off the ferry in Calais could soon be made even easier for Britons, after a senior French politician announced plans to let them drive on the left-hand side of the road. Xavier Bertrand, the president of the Hauts-de-France region, said the gesture showed that Britons would be welcome in France, even after Brexit.
It is also hoped the unusual arrangement will help reinvent the port city, which in recent years has become synonymous with the migrant crisis due to its proximity to the notorious "jungle" camp.

calais is being avoided for one simple reason. the threat from the illegal immigrants that wait there to get to blighty.
I am not sure driving on the correct side of the road on one day will have swarms of brits rushing over there.

Seems a desperate measure to me to entice tourism

it does rather and it is only for a single day anyway isn't it.Thorin wrote:Seems a desperate measure to me to entice tourism
A better solution would be to solve the murderous attacks by illegal immigrants on tourists and truckers and they may return again
