He went so far as to suggest the Prime Minister should resign immediately. So, to be fair, Mrs May was within her rights to use her press conference to remind voters that, whatever they’re claiming now, two years ago Labour’s front bench was prepared to countenance a 10 per cent reduction in spending on the police. For Corbyn to pose as a champion of the police is not only preposterous, it’s an insult to the intelligence of anyone whose memory goes back further than the last five minutes.

Those of us who have lived in North London since the Seventies are only too well aware of Corbyn’s character and political record.

He’s got plenty of previous. Hornsey Labour Party, which he chaired, featured a poster of pigs in police helmets at its headquarters. In the Eighties, he backed the Brixton rioters and supported Barmy Bernie Grant, Labour leader of loony Left Haringey Council, who said the coppers ‘got a good hiding’ during the murderous mob violence at Broadwater Farm in Tottenham, which claimed the life of PC Keith Blakelock.

You don’t need me to remind you that when the IRA was murdering policemen and soldiers in Northern Ireland, Corbyn was one of their loudest cheerleaders. He still can’t bring himself to condemn the IRA. Corbyn’s never met a terrorist he doesn’t like. Even if you overlook his support for Hamas and Hezbollah — simply different heads of the Islamist hydra which spawned the deranged London Bridge and Manchester murderers — he has voted against every single anti-terrorism measure which has come before Parliament during his time as an MP.

Yet he has the nerve to link the London Bridge outrage not simply to the Islamist nutters who carried it out, but to blame the ‘Tory cuts’. It is a fact that police spending has gone down in some areas, but money for anti-terrorism operations hasn’t just been increased, it’s been ring-fenced.

And the only reason that the Conservatives have had to reduce expenditure across the public services is because the last Labour government effectively bankrupted Britain. Remember the amusing note they left behind at the Treasury in 2010?

‘There’s no money left.’

Ha, bloody ha.

Perhaps the most damning indictment of the dangers of putting Corbyn in charge of anything more lethal than a dodgy falafel stall on Camden Market is his visceral opposition to any kind of shoot-to-kill policy by the police. He made his position abundantly clear in the wake of the attacks in Paris and Brussels.

Yet now, after London Bridge, with an election pending, he’s trying to pretend he’s changed his mind. How stupid does he think we are? There’s about as much chance of Corbyn approving a shoot-to-kill policy as ordering a nuclear strike on Islington North.

As I wrote in yesterday’s Mail, if Corbyn was Prime Minister, the brave firearms officers who took out the London Bridge terrorists on Saturday night would probably be facing murder charges.

He remains one seriously dangerous bastard — especially when it comes to national security. It’s not just Corbyn, either. His crypto-Communist Svengali John McDonnell has built his career on undermining the forces of law and order. As recently as 2015, McDonnell was reported to have signed a letter calling for armed police units, the anti-terror squad and MI5 to be abolished.

They would surrender to ISIS, and he has been caught out on the train saying how to fool the public on defence, with his PR guru

What lie, he has said he would not in some circumstances?

How is the Mail lying or the fact he hates the Police and is on record for doing so?

At a Stop the War Coalition conference six years ago, Jeremy Corbyn made this proud boast to his adoring audience: ‘I’ve been involved in opposing anti-terror legislation ever since I first went into Parliament in 1983.’

In that time he voted against banning Al Qaeda, against restricting the movements of suspected terrorists with so-called T-Pim orders, against allowing the police and security services emergency access to email and telephone records and against detaining foreign terror suspects thought to pose a threat to the UK.

He opposed the police shoot-to-kill policy and drone strikes against jihadists abroad – not to mention describing Hamas and Hezbollah militants as ‘friends’ and taking tea with the IRA.

So the Mail has this question. How does a man who throughout his political career has tried to hamper police attempts to tackle terrorism now have the gall to pose as a great champion of law and order?
With shameless hypocrisy, Mr Corbyn called yesterday for Theresa May to resign over cuts to police numbers, which he insinuated may have contributed to the recent terror attacks.

There is of course no evidence for this smear. While it’s true that overall police numbers have fallen since 2010, the resources devoted to terrorism have been significantly boosted.

The security service is recruiting an extra 2,000 officers, more specialist police firearms officers are being trained and Lord Carlile QC, independent reviewer of terror legislation, said: ‘The assertion that cuts to beat police officers have diminished the ability to fight terrorism is untrue.’

Crime has fallen by a spectacular 33 per cent since 2010 and the fact that police shot dead all three of the London Bridge terrorists within eight minutes of receiving the first emergency call is eloquent testimony to their professionalism.

Yes, we can always do better and it’s troubling that at least one of Saturday’s killers was well known as an IS sympathiser, yet appears not to have been thought a serious enough risk to be placed under close surveillance.

This apparent lapse demonstrates that our law enforcement agencies must always look to raise their game and should be given whatever resources they need to do so.

As she showed yesterday, Theresa May has a coherent and uncompromising plan to enhance Britain’s security against this terror threat. The alternative is not just Mr Corbyn as prime minister but also Diane (‘every defeat of the British state is a victory for us all’) Abbott as Home Secretary.

In the words of Lord Carlile: ‘The notion that she could lead the Home Office should leave us all in frozen apprehension.’

I see she's bottled it and done a runner from the latest interview....pulled a 'sickie' then got caught strolling around on her mobile phone. The woman's all piss and wind.

Sometimes I think the world has gone mad.

When Abbott was found out paying for her child to go to a public school while lambasting other parents for doing the same thing, she said in a TV interview that "...West Indian mothers would go to the wall for their children."

When Andrew Neil asked her, in a subsequent interview, to agree with him that white mothers would show the same commitment to their children she repeatedly flatly refused to do so.

Now that's real racism.

She is possibly one of the biggest racists in politics today, for her to use the race card against herself is utterly hypocritical.
Self projection at its most extreme.

Frankly, the stupid woman is so incompetent and inept that playing the race card is about the only option available to her to use in an attempt to detract attention from her patently obvious inadequacies.
