A good day for bad news
Amid the awful Manchester atrocity, the government have brushed the bad news about the trade deficit rising by 13% in April, undwr the carpet, as a result of flatlining VAT returns, caused by austerity and consumer non spending.

so
value-added tax revenues grew by 0.2 percent
Income tax revenues rose by just over 1 percent.
corporation tax revenues rose by 7 percent
however the main thrust of your thread seems to be that the gov has somehow engineered a bomb attack to hide this news.

the only party I can recall that ever suggested it was a good day to bury bad news was the one you support
