By not respecting my wish to be referred to a Japanese, lesbian mermaid, BY YOU, my employer, my government, any shop I custom, etc - that could be interpreted as a hate crime.

Granted, it's gender expression at the moment. But even though I'm not really trans or gay but want to express myself as such, you must refer to be as a lesbian.

Sooner or later, you will have to address me fully as Japanese lesbian mermaid, as all forms of expression become protected.

Oops typo. Though to be fair in my defense a sentence ending with 'anything' is usually negative it sounds weird as it is.

I agree with trying to do the decent thing and respect people's wishes. But with 70, 80 definitions and counting, I'm not going to spend my life skirting around people's feelings of I say the wrong thing.

These changes should not be forced by law. They should develop organically within culture, like all language. If it doesn't, then society rejects those definitions.
