They've done it again!
Just seen the news and Clegg has said that Britain will take lots of Syrian refugees. Does this man not understand that we are full and social resources are pushed to the limit?

It doesn't matter if you are driven in a nice secure car through the cesspit streets and don't have to communicate to anybody.
They do not have to stand next to East Europeans in a factory all day.
They don't have to shop in a busy Tesco's and only hear Eastern European voices.
Don't have to struggle to speak to a foreign bus driver, force their point across to African sounding nurses and doctors.
They won't get bumped to the bottom of the housing list.
They won't have their benefits reduced in order to pay for more refugees.
The one time Brown had to speak to his adoring supporters we learned what he really thought.

Well considering that Cameron was prepared to fire cruise missiles into Syria in the belief that he would be helping the people of Syria to escape from the violence of the Assad regime I think he really needs to consider another way to help them by participating in the international efforts to help end the suffering of at least some of them.
Surely the decent thing to do in the circumstances.

Well if he was so committed to helping the people of Syria then I take it that he has no problem welcoming them to the safety of Mersin or even here in the UK.

Why is this tiny island always helping others when it needs to help its own people; the people who were flooded for one thing.
Let Switzerland, Austria, Sweeden, Norway, Chad, DCR, China, South Korea, Italy, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Poland, Spain, Portugal and many more take them.
The last thing GB needs is more Muslims living here.

No he doesn't, it is a family owned property, that has a sitting tenant, that because of will complications they haven't been allowed to sell for five years.

Syrian refugees have been literally freezing to death in Lebanon etc, who have been trying to do their best for them, after they have been bombed, gassed and tortured. If we can't show a bit of humanity to a few, then there is something seriously wrong with us.

You would have been someone who turned the jews away during the war. And don't say it's different, it isn't. Millions of Syrians, millions, are dying and are refugees. Doctors, dentists, accountants, shopkeepers, makes not difference what they are, they are having to flee from literal hell.

Sorry, thought he said on here his brother's been living in it. I did probate for quite a few years - why couldn't they sell it for five years? Anyway never mind, none of my business. But he is living in a HA property so it's a bit rich to slag off someone else for doing the same don't you think?Sassy wrote:Tess. wrote:

Us Jews do not go around with explosives strapped to us trying to kill anyone that upsets us, a Big difference. When someone throws insults at the Torah or our God... we don't put a bounty on their head. Let Saudi Arabia show how benevolent Islam is to its fellow Muslims from Syria.

You have obviously forgotten the King David Hotel. And these people are blowing up no-one, they are the ones being blown up and gassed. Now, if you are jewish, surely you would have compassion for women and children being gassed?
Despite the lack of prospects for a short-term resolution of the situation, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon have demonstrated great generosity in welcoming the Syrian refugees and assisting them.
However, the ramifications of the Syria crisis are being felt even further away in a region where protection remains fragile at best. Indeed, the Syria situation has drawn attention away from other protracted or worsening situations, such as Yemen and Iraq. As such, in 2014 international support and burden-sharing will be essential not only to sustain assistance to those displaced by the Syria conflict but also to ensure protection and assistance for all people of concern in other States in the region.
| Response |
Strategies
The Syria displacement grew at an alarming rate in 2013, with close to 2 million refugees fleeing the country, chiefly to Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. Within the country, there were more than 6.8 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, including at least 4.25 million internally displaced people (IDPs). UNHCR will focus on maintaining the protection space in host countries through increased burden-sharing, including resettlement and humanitarian admissions, and by working with development actors to offset the impact of the refugee influx on national infrastructure and host communities.
In responding to needs of Syrian refugees and IDPs alike, coordination will be central to addressing potential protection and assistance gaps.
In this context, the Gulf countries will play a central role, not only in their hospitality to Syrian refugees on their soil, but in terms of advocacy and resource mobilization efforts, in line with their growing engagement in international humanitarian endeavours. UNHCR will maintain its momentum in building partnerships with a range of actors, including the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the League of Arab States.
In the subregion as a whole, the Office will advocate for the principle of non-refoulement, accessible and favourable asylum space, and durable solutions. Particular attention will also be paid to internal displacement situations in Yemen and Iraq, where political and security developments could jeopardize favourable national policies on displaced populations. In Iraq in particular, a key priority will remain the return and reintegration of IDPs and refugees.

No, Jewish people can never let the persecution ever happen again. They would rather take everybody out then go through another holocaust.

If you had ever witnessed at first hand the awesome military capabilities of the Israeli Defence Forces, as I have, you would realise just why they hadn't "done it a long time ago" Sassy.
And the declared ultimate objective of a number of Arab states to "push the Israelis into the sea..." has remained in effect since May 14th 1948.

It is a very good point, the Israeli's have the capability to wipe out all its neighbours and never have, which if we are to believe was there intention when opportunity has actually presented itself with conflicts, why they never have, of which is never explained.
It shows arguments from both sides are based on emotions and not any common sense me Lord

Except Keith was talking about muslims wanting to wipe out all none muslims, not Jews. The latest people to talk about pushing the other side into the sea is Israel, and Yasser Arrafat recognised them a long time ago and accepted their right to existence in 1993 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestine_Liberation_Organization). Of course Israel has a strong army, the amount of money the USA gives them for it.

Who the fuck cares what you want, andy? It was a game that Stephen started, and so I responded in kind. My point was, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Obviously, he got the point. He didn't wait around to offer any rebuttal. You didn't see him again on SF, nor here. As Bee has pointed out, the guy knew what he had done wrong.

Why should I have choked on it? Your buzz is not worse than a fly.
However, you obviously didn't like what Andy put.
And I thought you were saying that it was the wrong Stephen, so you hadn't done anything. Going back to the original, and saying it was the right Stephen now?

Frankly, I was delighted when andy responded. It gave me a chance to say what I was going to say.
Riiiiight......Stephen was as innocent as the new driven snow? Spoken like a crony of his...my point on what was wrong with SF. Cronyism.
As for the information on who Stephen was, you completely misunderstood. I said he was the right Stephen, and my proof is that Vic went ahead with the ban. If he hadn't been the right Stephen, Vic would not have responded. No harm, no foul.
It's the logical dilemma you are caught in.

You really aren't a very good lawyer are you? The fact that you believed it was the right Stephen is why Victor banned you. And Stephen is as white as the driven snow, but you keep deluding yourself that he is the Stephen you were talking about, because if you get through your thick head that he wasn't, you look like the total tit you are.
