Trumpcare is dead on arrival
The rollout of the GOP’s long-awaited Obamacare replacement, the American Health Care Act, was a disaster. Instead of unveiling the bill with fanfare, it was leaked to the media on Monday night, which meant that there was precious little spin to help conservatives digest it. The following morning, Representative Jason Chaffetz of Utah went on TV to play pitchman, and ended up dominating headlines by telling poor people they have to choose between a smartphone and health insurance. Fake President Trump embraced the bill, but also left a lot of daylight, creating an opening for congressional Republicans and conservative activists to criticize it. Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price tried to patch things up by appearing at Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s midday lie jamboree, but came across as squirrelly and unprepared—his main argument for the bill was that it was short, as he stood next to a very tall stack of papers meant to represent Obamacare/big government. By evening, prominent Republicans were proclaiming that the AHCA was DOA and conservatives in the House were in revolt. “I don’t think it’s ever going to arrive in the Senate,” Kentucky Senator Rand Paul told CNN. “I think it’s dead on arrival in the House.”
The AHCA has achieved one thing in its short and worthless life, however: It sucks so much that people have come together from across the political spectrum to proclaim just how much it sucks. Paul branded it “Obamacare Lite” and tweeted (hurriedly, it seems): “It will not pass. Conservarives [sic] are not going to take it.” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D) said it would “Make America Sick Again.” Heritage Action CEO Michael Needham, who is scary conservative, said it “not only accepts the flawed progressive premises of Obamacare but expands on them.” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D) tweeted that it “forces millions of Americans to pay more for less care.” Reason’s Peter Suderman wrote, “This bill, and the aura of secrecy surrounding it, seems more like a wish and a hope that this essential problem goes away rather than an attempt to truly solve it.” The Club for Growth saw an opportunity to own House Speaker Paul Ryan, dubbing this “warmed-over substitute for government-run health care” as “RyanCare.” And the Cato Institute’s Michael F. Cannon wrote, “This bill is a train wreck waiting to happen.”

Trump and his Republican Party had seven years to work on this and their best offering is something that has been roundly rejected by left, center and right.
Yeah, no.
Re: Trumpcare is dead on arrival
Only need 3 Republicans to align with Democrats. I've heard from 7 Republicans who are philosophically opposed. And by philosophically, I mean they cannot be charmed into changing their votes with a dinner at the WH.
Christ! To start with it gives a huge tax cut to health providers. Then it raises premiums by 30% on the 45-64 group, the very age group that supported Trump.
And what's with tax incentives? Tax breaks are for the rich. In order for tax incentives to work, you have to be earning money. If someone is drastically ill or disabled from injury, they are out of a job. What good are tax breaks? It's the rich, only thinking of the rich.
I'd love to see it pass...and the Republicans to lose the Congress in 2018.

Re: Trumpcare is dead on arrival
NO MATTER which way the Repub's spin it, there are still a handful of irreconcilable problems with the American "health" system overall :
* The health funds in the US are allowed to make a 50% profit margin on turnover !!! (At the same time, those self_same funds are quite happy to make 10% or less 'profit' from their subsidiaries operating in other countries..);
* Those same health funds are also allowed to limit cover, and even deny payouts entirely, to clients -- many of whom might have been paying for decades;
* Not only are the great majority of hospitals in the US "privately" owned -- but the largest group of corporate owners, are those very same health funds themselves !
* On top of all that, the average costs of many surgical operations and medical treatments in the USA are often double that of equivalent services in comparable markets such as Britain, France or Australia !!!
These also happen to be problems that the Obama administration hadn't been able to address -- and also why the US is still as far away now from ever developing a genuine and sustainable "Universal healthcare system" as it's ever been..

Republican lawmakers are too damn dumb, ignorant, stupid, and Nazi to know how to do anything but make American lives a living hell.

I wish they'd admit that they would rather just repeal Obamacare -- they obviously preferred the bad old days of pre-existing conditions and tens of millions uninsured.
But I think Obamacare has at least made the system we had before it came along untenable to the average American, and if that was the only thing it accomplished it would still be a remarkable improvement.

Re: Trumpcare is dead on arrival
Trump and Conway are upset that people are calling their abomination, "Trumpcare." LOL! We had to put up with their lemmings calling the ACA, Obamacare, for about 8 years. Screw those assholes. We should call it, "TrumpDoesn'tCare."
