And my favourite female poet..
Sylvia Plath (/plæθ/; October 27, 1932 – February 11, 1963) was an American poet, novelist, and short story writer. Born in Boston, she studied at Smith College and Newnham College at the University of Cambridge before receiving acclaim as a poet and writer. She was married to fellow poet Ted Hughes. They lived together in the United States and then in England and had two children, Frieda and Nicholas. Plath was clinically depressed for most of her adult life. She died by suicide in 1963.
Plath is credited with advancing the genre of confessional poetry.

Google usually does a good animated gif on women's day, I collect them, but this year it was whack. 
Shout out to the brave women pilots, engineers and scientists of past centuries. You believed yourself equal to your male counterparts and it was this steely self belief that enabled you to achieve all the amazing feats you did.
Shout out to all the suffragettes, the old CND campaigners and all other women who put their welfare and liberty on the line, for the sake of future generations. And all the oppressed women in backward countries, they have a mountain to climb to achieve anything approaching a half decent life, clearly. Gawd bless you all!
