This is pretty factual actually.
The women are carefully working out a social dilemma... thinking of one anothers feelings, remaining positive even though one of them feels rejected and the other feels guilty.
Silently they work out the problem then submit the best solution that suits them both, displaying empathy and understanding....thus avoiding a public display of animosity.

There has been a brilliant TV series about The secret life of 4, 5, and 6 year olds. Psychiatrists have studied groups of children at play, seeing how they develop, the differences between boys and girls, and how they cope differently in social situations.
Experts reckon the way they act at this age will determine how they will treat people in adulthood.
Allready the way girls sort out problems at this young age is very different to the way boys handle them.
