What quiz?

We used to have a great one on CM, because everyone googles it was the fastest answer who won the point.
There used to be about 8 or 10 of us competing some weeks. Usually the one with the brains who could type the fastest scored the most points
Obviously I never won. Sad

Just a slight disclaimer in case I don't know the answer.
I have seriously done something to my right hand typing finger ( luckily the left digit is still working) so there may be a long gap between the question being asked and me answering it.

if we take the unknown number you are thing of and call it "X" the clearly 3 times that number is 3X

we shall call this number Y

clearly then X = 1/3 Y

so the number you are thinking of is indeed 1/3 Y

and 3 times X (your original number) is Y
