"An unemployed woman nicknamed 'Waynetta Slob' beat up her partner as she raged his plan to get a new job would see their benefits slashed.
Joanne Corless, 35, attacked partner Patrick Kelly, 37, after he announced plans to find work as she believed they would be better off staying unemployed.
Mr Kelly had announced plans to visit the job centre near their home in Moston, Manchester, but she tried to sabotage his search by snapping his glasses and ripping buttons from his shirt.
When he went to get changed into another shirt she pushed him against the door and landed several blows to his head.
Manchester Magistrates Court heard the couple were joint tenants at a rented property and Corless - nicknamed after the character from the Harry Enfield and Chums TV show played by Kathy Burke - believed they would better off staying unemployed."

I would have thought going to the police to report this as a crime, was not putting up with this. Where most men would have been too embarrassed to do so.

I have a lot of sympathy for him.
He is unemployed, drastically overweight, and living on benefits.
I believe many people in that position sink into depression and give up.
Against all the odds, he tried to better himself by finding work thus finding his self respect.
It seems she tried to drag him back down even when he was trying.
I hope he gets rid and gets his life back on track.
I doubt she even wants to.
