WikiLeaks battled with online critics after attacking U.S. officials for issuing portions of a report on Russian hacking before Donald Trump’s intelligence briefing.

The hacktivist group, which posted the emails and other data that U.S. officials believe were obtained at the direction of senior Russian officials, objected to the release of information contained in a U.S. intelligence report about the stolen documents.

Its been known for sometime that wikilinks is a front from the Russians.
What needs to be researched is if and how effecting the hacking was on the actual election

it wouldn't need russians to hack podestas emails as his password was apparently password.

Surely you are not going to question countless intelligence agencies, the FBI, CIA etc?

US intelligence agencies accused Vladimir Putin of launching an "influence campaign" to damage Hillary Clinton in a new report, with sources saying British intelligence provided the tip about Russia's hacking of the Democratic Party.

The report said Russia showed a "clear preference" for Donald Trump, the president-elect, and carried out cyber attacks and issued propaganda both to boost his chances and to undermine confidence in American democracy.

Mr Trump insisted on Friday that foreign meddling had "absolutely no effect" on the outcome of the election, and declined to say whether he believed Russia was behind the hacks.

British intelligence was reportedly aware of Russia's involvement as early as autumn 2015, warning the US that the country was responsible for the breach at the Democratic National Committee.

the other thing to consider is that every election for ages has been hacked by Russia, china or '5-eyes members'.

the west is miles behind on cyber espionage compared with China which has it incorporated into the military.

BUT it is hardly real hacking, Hillary left valuables out, unguarded and unlocked.
just like in real life if you do that people may take it, Russia did NOT break and enter as there was no breaking in required to compare it to normal theft.

And to influence the course of the election by revealing REAL true information about one of the candidates is literally SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN, the fact Russia could even have an effect by revealing the truth is more a statement on US politics and of the US media Spin and lies that get passed off as news.

And on principal, it doesn't matter whether I lock my door or not -- if you come in and take my possessions without my permission, you've committed a crime.

but trump didn't have a state email? .....which he illegally moved to private unsecured email server, as a tech I would send her to Jail for that. She would be on treason and espionage charges. What she did would get you fired in a corporate environment as it is a direct breach of the rules that are required to allow some level of security, to do that with State correspondence is irredeemably irresponsible, she Should not be allowed any public office and should be barred for all places where confidential information is. (that would be standard for anyone else guilty of what she has done)

And I don't think you'd get much hacking trump that is not already public knowledge.
Face it, Far worse came out about trump though the official media. All sorts of 'Assassination of his character' and if they did have real crimes they would have ran that too.

The Great Irony is that the Hacking only Could occur because of the Crime Hillary committed. She as good as gave them too the Russians, she may as well have put state secrets in a manila folder and left it on a coffee table in a coffee shop.

Good points.  Well made..  As per usual...

The media, the FBI, et al, keep on spouting off buzz words like "hacking" as if they were going out of fashion..  And yet I'm still waiting to hear what the actual "hacking" was supposed to have been.

And the US and World media happily ignores the CIA's and DoD's regular interference and influences on various national elections through the 1960s, '70s and '80s..

As with certain peoples' total ignorance of the actual meaning of such words as "troll, spam, honesty, liars",  here and elsewhere --  there are a lot of media nongs and pollies who keep on proving that they are truly clueless about genuine meanings, as well.
