Major wrote:Our freezer is ramjam full, what happens, a bleedin gratis deer was delivud to me this morning, the person shot it last night and has had to go oop north on a emergency job, I was lumbud.
I have phoned around and no one has any freezer room, all full up, bleeding leftoverz I reckon.
At last I contacted the usual butcher at his local, he will come and get today.
I will have the fillets and some meat off him in a week or two in exchange.
Did they stun it before they shot it?

It's already stunned by a well placed bullet in the heart or brain !

But in the meantime the animal is suffering and might even need to be located again to finish it off.
Does the potential suffering of animals only bother you when it's done in a slaughterhouse using the halal method?

No need to with 30-06
Unless you have a clear safe shot at a target with any gun you do not discharge it, basic rule.
Perhaps you would like to inform other hunters of this.
All it takes is for the animal to move just as you discharge your gun and you will not hit them where you intended to and as animals are living, breathing entities they could absolutely do just that.

Re: Another Deer
If they hit 'em with an RPG, would that satisfy you?

I'd rather people didn't hunt at all actually.

I'V hunted since I was 9, for the last 25years Farmers have let me shoot Wood pigeon and Rabbit. AS well as doing them a favour I was able to sell them to a game dealer. [I did a bit of hunting in Vietnam,

Spindle, please enlighten us all of your personal experience at shooting at a live food animal????
These type of hunters rarely miss, the bullets are expensive ya know.
Ya do not get issued with a rifle firearms licence if you are an aerosol.
Are trying to tell me Major that a living breathing animal is so predictable that you can be absolutely sure that it won't turn away so instead of hitting it and killing it outright you just injure it?
