Jon Stewart: Trump is the only Republican to propose what would be appropriate action in response to Republican rhetoric

This is a very good point. For those who can't see this video, the essence is that Trump didn't come up with anything new in terms of what conservatives think is going wrong with the U.S.

His true novelty was that while mainstream Republicans tried to scare people about things like immigration, but never actually acted as though their warnings were as dire as they sounded at the time, Trump didn't just present scare tactics -- he proposed what to actually do, if (as conservatives in the U.S. believe) the foreigners are coming to eat our women and rape our babies.

It actually explains, as well, why a lot of American liberals were so purist about Bernie Sanders. He talked about beating up the banks and instituting Canadian-style health care. It didn't matter to his supporters whether these things were realistic, they were simply tired of hearing left-leaning candidates talk that sort of talk and then get into office and not pursuing them the way they thought they should be pursued.
