I am not for one second condoning this, and the man's wife was obviously distraught, but does anyone give a second thought to how distraught people have been seeing what the Russians have been doing in Aleppo? That was what the assassin was talking about.

Yes, you are right, for sure. People don't give a second thought about what it means to 'send troops in'. I always ask the most fundamental question: Are they going in with warm puppies and teddy bears, or guns, knives and grenades?
People never stop to think of the fundamental realities: guns don't protect...they are designed and built to kill.
And they don't kill the person who is trying to kill you. Soldiers avoid those people. The only ones they seek out and kill are the babies...the ones who have no guns with which to shoot back.
So you are not helping anyone when you send the troops in You are adding to the problem. But, nor are you helping when you gun down a defenseless diplomat.

It's not the guns Quill, it's the bombs they and Assad have been dropping on the civilians, plus the Russians have condoned and helped Assad drop chemical weapons.

Well I know...I mean "guns" as a metaphor (metonymy, actually) for offensive weapons. Teddy Roosevelt first confused a 'stick' with 'walking softly', and the western world has forever after thought of offensive weapons as symbols of defense. That error has cost the world millions of innocent lives.

I agree, and what has been happening in Aleppo is simply outrageous.
