Can't decide between Lennon or Marley.
Soon as I wrote that I knew the answer: It's gotta be Marley. For the pure spirituality of the man.

I have never heard ONE Elvis song that I've liked.
I put that here as a wager; bet no one can find me one.

Bob Marley...
The likes of Elvis, Johny Cash and John Lennon had all peaked well before their deaths..
My pick was between Marley and Kurt Cobain -- as two who went well before their time, but Marley wins out, for me..

Yes he was - he was brilliant, just like Jagger. Both wonderful performers, both fantastic to watch. I miss Freddie.
Lennon was artistic with songs and words, brilliant, I love Lennon too.

I loved his voice. I heard he was shy. My one regret is that I never saw them live. Wasn't he from Chorlton.

Well he was born in England but grew up in Dublin. His mum had a late night club in Whalley range and he was often there. I believe she wrote a book about him later (lost touch when I left town) she was a character and he was lovely.
